At 44, Sarah Palin just became a very young grandma with the birth of her daughter, Bristol's son, Tripp on Sunday. Some women can't wait for grandbabies while others prefer to hold off on getting the title. Do you believe age is just a number? Or are young grannies more fun and easy to relate to since there's less of a generation gap?

Nothing beats cuddling up with your lil one to read their favorite book, except, perhaps, reading a book about them. One of the first words a pre-reading child recognizes is their own name and with the personalized books created by Frecklebox they can do just that. Among the five stories to choose from ($20 for soft cover and $35 for hard), the Nature Namebook follows a little girl who is learning to spell her name. As she looks at her natural surroundings, she sees her name in beautiful photographs of blowing leaves, starry nights and seashell filled beaches. The collection also includes birthday books, a zoo book and a fairy tale.
With cute stories and stunning photographs, the books are sure to become permanent fixtures in your bedtime reading rotation and will be treasured as your tot grows old enough to read on their own.

From trips to see Santa to shopping to ice skating, they were busy getting one-on-one time with their lil ones. We even got a glimpse of President-elect Obama, taking advantage of some quality time with his daughter in Hawaii. Check out the slideshow to see what he and a few of our other favorite lil faces were up to this week.
Though some moms stick to strict schedules regardless of circumstance, others are willing to bend the rules on special occasions. I let my children stay up late on birthdays, family gatherings, and holidays. On Wednesday night, my son and daughter are welcome to ring in 2009 with us if they can keep their eyes open.
Will your kids be staying up past their bedtime on New Year's Eve?
Lil Mark It Mission: Newborn Essentials New parents are bombarded with things to do before their newest family member arrives, but one of the most overwhelming parts is figuring out what to buy.
The key to your lil one's heart is sometimes the same one that starts your car. Unfortunately for your tot, your car keys are not a toy. Instead, give her a set of her own "adult gadgets" to hold, shake, and suck on. The On the Go Activity Set ($15) includes big plastic keys and a cell phone that makes fun noises and lights up, just like mommy's — only they can't accidentally call 911 or set off the car alarm. While the items may not be the same as your car keys and iPhone, she'll love imitating you.
