Things You Loved to Love and Loved to Hate in 2007

2007 was a year in which Dolce & Gabbana made $275 safety glasses, rings came with living plants, Crocs went ballet, tops had huge holes in the front, and Anya Hindmarch caused an "I'm not a plastic bag" frenzy.

Whew — what a year! Looking back, do you still feel the same way you used to? Do you Love It or Hate It?

Caution For Croc-Wearing Kids

Plastic clogs have become a fast favorite of lil kids and their parents who love the convenience of the slip-on shoes, but wearers should take caution.

Plastic clogs have become a fast favorite of lil kids and their parents who love the convenience of the slip-on shoes, but wearers should take caution.

A New York Times health blog stated that escalator accidents involving the nonskid shoes getting caught in front of or on the sides of the moving steps were reported in Japan and across the nation. It said:

Closer to home, local television stations and bloggers also have reported on several escalator injuries to kids who were wearing Crocs. In August, the blog Wisebread ran pictures of a mangled Croc shoe and a little girl’s bloodied toes, both allegedly the aftermath of an escalator accident. And one website, CrocsAccidents, is devoted entirely to injuries that occur while kids are wearing Crocs.

Do you think shoe style contributes to escalator safety, or is this just a crock?

What Are the Best Baby Shoes?

As if they aren't cute enough, babies also get the best footwear.

As if they aren't cute enough, babies also get the best footwear. When it comes to covering your lil walker's toes, what type of shoes do you choose?

Soft slippered Robeez, sandal like Crocs, old school Converse, PediPeds to keep up with celebs, Pumas to run in, cub foot bottomed Pazitos, or See Kai Run for more advanced walkers.

With so many brands and styles to choose from, which pair does your lil one wear?

Crocs Mammoth: Cool or Not?

The amphibian footwear created by Crocs has always been controversial in the fashion world, but now the medical field is weighing in on the shoes as well.

The amphibian footwear created by Crocs has always been controversial in the fashion world, but now the medical field is weighing in on the shoes as well. Although many styles by Crocs are approved by the American Podiatric Medical Association and the U.S. Ergonomics Council, hospitals in the UK and Sweden have banned the shoes. Some British hospitals feel they pose health and safety risks (especially the styles featuring decorative holes on them), plus they don't meet the dress code (too colorful I presume). The Swedes found the shoes created static electricity that interfered with medical equipment causing malfunction.

On the heels of the controversy, came this new style of Crocs - The Mammoth ($39.99) and was curious what you all would think of it. It is essentially a fleece lined clog with holes in it. The design really confuses me, but I have never been a Crocs lover (unlike my daughters who LOVE them).

So as always, I am curious - are these cool?

Cool or Not: Crocs Sassari Heels

OK, so you guys all got pretty excited about the Cole Haan Nike Air heels but everyone wanted a cheaper comfortable heel option.

OK, so you guys all got pretty excited about the Cole Haan Nike Air heels but everyone wanted a cheaper comfortable heel option. I came across the new Crocs Sassari ($39.99) wedge. I have not really been a fan of Crocs on anything other than a child. I don't know, there is something about a grown man wearing bright purple Crocs to match his bright purple polo that doesn't appeal to me.

The Sassari wedges do not look a thing like Crocs other than the fact that they are made from the Croslite signature material. You can order them directly from Crocs online but they are not available until March 1, 2007.

I know people are loving them, so what do you think -- Cool or not?

Crocs Prima Ballet Slip On: Love It or Hate It?

If you've ever tried on a pair of Crocs—or just spoken to someone who has tried on a pair of Crocs—you know they're the comfiest ugly shoes since Birkenstocks, not to mention lightweight and affordable.

If you've ever tried on a pair of Crocs—or just spoken to someone who has tried on a pair of Crocs—you know they're the comfiest ugly shoes since Birkenstocks, not to mention lightweight and affordable. And did I mention that they're ugly?

The other day, however, I discovered this Crocs Prima Ballet Slip On, available for $30 here. Like the original Crocs, these anti-microbial shoes conform perfectly to your foot after a few outings, but unlike their predecessors, the Prima shoes are actually pretty cute, particularly for warm-weather travel. Would you guys actually wear this version of Crocs? Love them or hate them?
