We caught up with Michael Kors backstage at his Spring 2011 New York Fashion Week show. The designer told us the inspiration behind his newest collection and model Karlie Kloss chimes in with her reaction to his pick for the season's hottest shoes.

Monique Lhuillier is perhaps best known for her stunning bridal collections. Her Spring 2011 runway show, however, stretched beyond the stunning gowns and incorporated apple red and oceanic cocktail dresses, frocks, experimenting with feminine prints and beyond.

Preen’s Spring 2011 runway collection at Fashion Week focused on femininity and sophistication, with neutral and nude colors, romantic prints, and beading and embroidery. These modern looks focused on silks and simple silhouettes.

Yigal Azrouël’s Spring 2011 collection was a mélange of flowing chiffons and sheers. Azrouël’s airy fabrics were paired with more structured textures in shades of melon, olive, and pink, with special attention to back draping and detail. Tailored jackets and pants punctuated the feminine look with some masculine accents.

Vera Wang's Spring 2011 New York Fashion Week runway collection was pure Vera: romantic frocks in beautiful fabrics mixed with perfectly-tailored pants with shimmery textures. The show boasted some big names in the audience, including Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour, Vogue's Editor at Large Andre Leon Talley, and even Serena Williams.

Lela Rose's Spring 2011 runway was all about mixing Old World textiles with modern, wearable shapes. The light, airy fabrics were presented in vivid, bright colors, from melon and turquoise to silver and yellow.

3.1 Phillip Lim was all about beige and neutral tones. The Spring 2011 runway collection included hints of blue color when least expected and focused on geometric shapes draping the human form.

Max Azria's Herve Leger Spring 2011 runway show featured a mix of body-hugging dresses in a variety of fabrics, from leather to lace. A red carpet favorite for many of Hollywood's biggest names, the collection incorporated strategically-placed cutouts and creative perforations in its designs. Gossip Girl star Jessica Szohr, among other high-profile fans, was spotted admiring the collection at the show.

Marc Jacobs’s Spring 2011 runway collection channeled the legendary Grace Coddington. Sending sixty models down the runway, Fashion Week veteran Marc Jacob’s pieces were pure ‘70s, recalling Bianca Jagger and Jodie Foster from Taxi Driver. Wide-legged trousers, frizzy hair, oversized flower corsages and gold platforms punctuated the collection.

Edun's Spring 2011 runway at New York Fashion Week featured a collection of muted earth tones with detailed buttons and beading, mixed with clean white fabrics and eclectic prints. Attendees included Gavin Rossdale (with son Kingston) and artist Jeff Koons.
