The actor was one of several celebrities in attendance: Solange Knowles also arrived just before Rev Run and DJ Ruckus took to the turntables to spin a set full of throwback hip-hop for the crowd. The Help's Ahna O'Reilly also made an appearance at the party, which was nestled in an underground VIP space in the JW Marriott, right in the heart of the city's bustling festival scene.

Liam is in Cannes to celebrate the Hunger Games franchise, while Miley Cyrus has been tweeting about spending time in the recording studio back in the states as she works on new music. Liam's second film in the series isn't screening during the festival, but the cast — including Jennifer Lawrence — gathered today for a Catching Fire photocall, and Lionsgate is throwing a bash in honor of the film later tonight.

Today, Calvin Klein officially unveiled Rooney Mara as the face of its newest fragrance, Downtown — but the brand got an early start celebrating the news last night. Despite the rain, stars including Rooney, Carey Mulligan, Nicole Kidman, and Skyfall's Naomie Harris stopped by Calvin Klein's beachside bash at the Cannes Film Festival yesterday evening.

Rooney marked the new partnership alongside Francisco Costa, the creative director of Calvin Klein Collection, at the party, which was also hosted by Belvedere and IWC. Inside the dimly lit and intimate soiree, she chatted with producer Harvey Weinstein, while Carey mingled by the DJ booth before making an early departure. Nicole also made time in her Cannes schedule to attend. All three actresses are busy working this week. Carey's The Great Gatsby premiered on opening night; Rooney's latest film, Ain't Them Bodies Saints, will also debut later this week; and Nicole is serving as a member of the film festival's official jury.

Yesterday, Fox held its upfront presentation in NYC, showing off its newest shows and celebrating the series that have already been successes for the network. Mindy Kaling, Zooey Deschanel, Lea Michele, Demi Lovato, and Minka Kelly — who is starring in J.J. Abrams's upcoming show for the channel — were among the attendees at the presentation's afterparty. Lea sported a sexy, one-shoulder dress as she walked the blue carpet solo. Cory Monteith, her costar and boyfriend, didn't attend the event. However, the pair did celebrate his 31st birthday together over the weekend in LA.

While stars of current shows like Glee, New Girl, and The Mindy Project were celebrated at the event, the network also unveiled several series to come in 2013 and 2014, which network brass consistently referred to as reaching a "new generation" of viewers. Among the most buzz-worthy announcements were Andy Samberg's upcoming cop comedy and the confirmation that 24 will be returning to the airwaves.

Keira Knightley and her now-husband, James Righton, stepped off a plane in Corsica on Wednesday, following their weekend wedding in the small town of Mazan, also in France. Keira wore a recycled Chanel gown to the nuptials. The intimate wedding was attended by a small group of family and friends and was followed by a party at Keira's parents' home in nearby Provence.

Once James and Keira landed on the island, the couple shared a baguette as they took a boat ride and spent some time relaxing on the beach. Keira sported a bikini while James splashed shirtless in the ocean, and the duo got playful as they lounged on chaises along the shore. The pair also shared a sweet moment together at a local cafe, holding hands across the table as they dined alfresco.

Carey Mulligan went for a sleek, streamlined look tonight on the Met Gala red carpet. The Great Gatsby actress wore a design by Alexander Wang, who just took the reins at Balenciaga this season. The dress featured a midriff-baring panel and a nod to the night's theme, Punk: Chaos to Couture, with its safety-pin detail on the chest.

Sarah Jessica Parker was the talk of the Punk: Chaos to Couture red carpet tonight as she arrived in a feathered headdress by Philip Treacy. The headpiece even caught the attention of Jennifer Lawrence, who stopped to touch the design on the steps of the Met Gala. In addition to the statement-making accessory, Sarah Jessica wore a Giles Deacon gown with knee-high tartan boots and had Vogue editor Hamish Bowles on her arm. She's a frequent fixture at the annual event and has attended as the guest of designers including Alexander McQueen in the past. Carey Mulligan and her husband, Mumford & Sons lead singer Marcus Mumford, held hands on Friday as they headed to lunch at Prune in NYC. Later on in the day, Carey headed out of their hotel solo to do a little more promotion for The Great Gatsby, sharing a story about her embarrassing first meeting with the producer of the soundtrack, Jay-Z.

Carey visited Late Night With Jimmy Fallon to chat about taking on the role of Daisy Buchanan and her A-list collaborators on the project. She told Jimmy that she met Jay-Z at the NYC premiere of the movie last week, but that the introduction didn't go very smoothly. "I built it up in my head," she said. "He was so nice, and he reached out to shake my hand . . . and I went sort of blank." Carey said that she got so flustered, she awkwardly told Jay, "I know you . . ." before dissolving into nervous giggles. On Saturday night, Carey followed up her visit with Jimmy by joining her costars and director Baz Luhrmann to preview The Great Gatsby for a VIP group that included Katy Perry and Gwen Stefani. The film hits theaters in the US on Friday and will open the Cannes Film Festival on May 15.
