The annual Costume Institute Benefit is all about fashion and fun, but before the stars can celebrate inside the bash, they have to make their way into the Metropolitan Museum of Art by way of the grand staircase. The dramatic carpeted steps make for gorgeous photos — and sometimes dress difficulties — as celebrities navigate the steps in their stylish gowns and getups. We've rounded up the most stunning staircase shots from this year's gala, starting with Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's moment on their way into the Met.
Anne Hathaway took the Costume Institute Benefit's punk theme to the next level and debuted a new dye job on the Metropolitan Museum of Art red carpet in NYC on Monday. Make sure to vote on your favorites in our Met Gala fashion and beauty polls.
Jennifer Lawrence posed for the cameras as she made her way into the 2013 Met Gala in NYC on Monday. She chose a ladylike gown by Dior — not surprising since she's one of the faces of Miss Dior — for the event, which was extraspecial since it was her first time attending. Jennifer shared a moment with fellow face of Dior Marion Cotillard as well as Sarah Jessica Parker on the carpet. On her way in, Jennifer stopped to chat about the decision-making process, which she says is pretty easy when you have the designer of Dior Couture giving you direction. Jennifer isn't the only Met Gala rookie to secure an invite to tonight's bash, since Kim Kardashian is making her first appearance as well. She'll be attending with boyfriend Kanye West, who is expected to perform at the party.

Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard ventured out of their LA home and headed to brunch with their newborn daughter, Lincoln, on Sunday. The trio's dining excursion marked the first time we've seen Kristen and Dax out with Lincoln following her birth on March 28. Dax admitted to only having left the house twice since then, when he stepped out to host a CASA of Los Angeles gala last week. Kristen will soon be the one in the hosting spotlight after it was announced that she'll return to the stage for the Country Music Television Awards in June. It'll be her second time heading up the show, though her cohost has yet to be revealed.
Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson touched down at LAX with their daughter, Maxwell, yesterday. The trio returned from a quick trip out of town after taking off together from LA on Friday. Two of Jessica's designers, Garrett Gerson and JesseRay Vasquez, were voted off last week, leaving Jessica with just one contestant, Hunter Bell, as they head into the final show. Jennifer Lopez hit the Fort Lauderdale, FL, set of her new music video for "Live It Up" with Pitbull yesterday. J Lo's boyfriend Casper Smart kept a close eye on the shoot, which included what looked like a kiss between J Lo and Pitbull. The duo didn't actually lock lips for the cameras, but they did get close dancing and singing. J Lo also filmed her own sexy moments in both a black string bikini and a nude one piece. Casper got into the fun, too, and went shirtless in the sand during the action, which, according to Casper's Twitter account, lasted 18 hours. Things got complicated though, when J Lo had to be rushed off the set after gunshots were fired nearby.
J Lo and Casper let loose on the beach for work after spending last weekend in Las Vegas partying. The couple celebrated Hakkasan Nightclub's grand opening at the MGM Grand. At the event, J Lo apparently chatted with Tiësto about possibly collaborating on a new track.

Gisele Bündchen spent Saturday afternoon at an NYC park with her kids, Benjamin and Vivian. The trio were attending a party, where Gisele chatted with other moms as Ben played in the grass and Vivian stayed snug in her stroller. Later that night, Gisele switched out of mom mode. She headed to the opening of Dolce & Gabbana's flagship boutique on Fifth Avenue in a sexy white lace dress to celebrate with designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana. Yesterday, Gisele wrapped up the weekend with a family dinner, along with her husband, Tom, and stepson, Jack Brady, at Blue Ribbon. Alanis Morissette hung out on the beach in Hawaii with her son, Ever, on Saturday. She sported a striped bikini top and black bottoms with "Self Love" jeweled on the back, which showed off her many tattoos. Alanis's husband Mario Treadway joined the duo on the beach yesterday, when he and Alanis got away for PDA in the water. Alanis took the tropical trip with her family to mark Mario's birthday, which was on Friday. They'll soon have another reason to celebrate since their third wedding anniversary is coming up on May 22. Alanis's time off comes after she partnered with Kiehl's last month to design a limited-edition label for the Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cream with the proceeds benefiting Recycle Across America. The Beckham family had a busy weekend in Paris! On Saturday, David and his boys, Brooklyn, Romeo, and Cruz, kicked things off with a stop by the Paris Saint-Germain facilities, where they kicked around a soccer ball. The rest of the day was all about shopping, with the crew stopping by a Balenciaga store. Yesterday, David and the three boys took in the PSG game against Valenciennes, which David was forced to watch from afar since he received a one-game suspension last week. He and the boys later reunited with Victoria and Harper for a special visit to the Eiffel Tower to dine at Le Jules Verne. The restaurant, which is located on the second floor of the landmark, features stunning views of Paris and is accessed by a private elevator.

Reese Witherspoon and her husband, Jim Toth, landed at LAX with their son Tennessee last night. The trio arrived on a flight from Atlanta, where Reese has been busy filming The Good Lie. Georgia is also the location of her and Jim's arrest late last month, which they both paid for at a court hearing last week. Reese received a fine for her disorderly conduct charge, and Jim will be on probation and perform community service for his charge of driving under the influence of alcohol. It appears they're making amends after the legal troubles, though, since Reese wore a Atlanta Police Department hat during her travels. The police department has been in the spotlight this week as well with videos of Reese and Jim's arrest being released. Before the tapes hit the Internet, Reese stopped by Good Morning America to address the incident, saying, "We know better."
