Backstage at French designer Sophie Theallet's Fall 2013 fashion show, makeup artist Tom Pecheux used MAC Cosmetics to create a beautiful look in a "casual, functional way." After examining the feminine qualities and colors of the clothing, Tom wanted a face that was charming, polished, and glowing to complement the collection.
The look: An "old money" makeup look that doesn't scream show-off.
Who would wear it: Any type of woman, as long as she is comfortable in her own body and has a little bit of style.

For Fall 2013, Victoria Beckham wanted the beauty aspect of her fashion show to reflect a confident and beautiful woman that has real hair. She is the kind of girl who wears exquisite clothing that speaks volumes, so her makeup should enhance her natural features. Her nails are buffed and shaped, and her hair is highly texturized and well-thought-out, yet it has a new kind of ease to it that strays far away from bouncy blowouts and high shine.

For Fall 2013, designers Jeffrey Costello and Robert Tagliapietra of Costello Tagliapietra drew their inspiration from the future. Using a color palette filled with purples, blues, pinks, and greens, the beauty style was a reflection of an uptight woman who is finally trying to have some fun. The makeup look was created by Maki for MAC, hair was developed by lead stylist Nelson Vercher for the Rita Hazan Salon and nails were polished by Michelle Saunders for Essie.
The look: Highly texturized hair fastened in a low ponytail, metallic purple nails, and bright, matte fuchsia lips

One of London Fashion Week's most anticipated shows, Burberry Prorsum, drew stars like Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Alexa Chung to the front row — along with actress Poppy Delevigne, who snapped photos of her younger sister, Cara, as she walked the runway. The Autumn/Winter Topshop Unique show was held earlier today at the Old Billingsgate Market in the City of London. With the sunshine peering through the windows (for a change), the backdrop was beautiful, and finally, there was ample space both behind the scenes and inside the actual venue to move around, mingle, and munch on the delectable treats that were offered preshow. Anna Wintour, Alexandra Shulman, Olivia Palermo, Alexa Chung, Pixie Geldof, Poppy Delevigne, and Leigh Lezark all sat in the front row to watch in anticipation.
For this military-inspired collection filled with burgundy, olive, navy, chunky knits, leather, and velvet pieces (my favorite being the leather overalls), the look this season for the clothing, accessories, and beauty was all a bit more grown-up than what we typically see from the brand. The collection was sensational: full of color and depth that recalled the 1920s, but with a bit of art-deco androgyny mixed in among the artwork prints. You don't need to endure painful injections to have the look of bigger lips. You don't necessarily need a lip plumping product, either. Makeup artists rely on tried and true tips to help their clients pump up the volume, and I've got a few of them to share.

Whether you're feeling the effects of the lousy economy or not, it never hurts to save money. So you really should know about the aspirin mask: a skin-softening, acne-fighting treatment that costs only a few cents. It's simple, cheap, and effective. Use it as an exfoliating paste, or leave it on your skin for about five minutes as a mask. Either way, you should see brighter, softer skin with less dullness. (That's because the effective ingredient in aspirin is chemically similar to salicylic acid, which helps exfoliate skin.)
