Would You Get a Mommy Makeover?

A friend of mine attended an event at her son's preschool where she was seated with his classmate's moms. As the night wore on, the table conversation got a bit more brazen and several of the women started commenting on another mom's amazing figure. Consensus of opinion was that this mom of three had a Mommy Makeover, otherwise known as a breast lift, tummy tuck, and liposuction. While some of the ladies scoffed, several said the plastic surgeon will be on their call list as soon as they deliver their final babies. They can't wait to get back to their pre-baby bodies.

If money were no object, would you consider a Mommy Makeover?

I wouldn't put myself up for elective surgery. Sure, there may be some stunning results, but then again you will be taking the risk if something were to go horribly wrong...

With the exception of my girls, my body is better than before I had my daughter. I am physically stronger and my stomach is flatter b/c I was soooo determined not to use having a child as an excuse to be fat and unhealthy. Genetically I am wired (something my parents don't let me forget) to be large so I have had to work hard at staying fit. My girls however have shrank from their glorious 34C size to an A. Now if I had always just been an A, I would be content, but I miss my C's. So, as soon as I am done with my babies I am totally getting them worked on. My chin too - I know what being super thin but still having a double chin feels like!

Well, pinkprincess, since you don't take the time to check your spelling and/or punctuation, I'll guess you didn't notice that every comment made before mine NEVER mentioned any type of medical necessity for surgery. My comment can only be made regarding what each person has typed. Any hidden "true intentions" could never be known by me, could they? And posting on a public web site has made this everyone's business. I am not eavesdropping on a conversation at a cocktail party here, this is posted for anyone to read. Isn't that why you're commenting towards me? Comments are made as a matter of opinion, as you are entitled to yours - I also am to mine. Stooping to the level of a middle school student and calling me stupid is just unnecessary.

my surgery was for myself some can say selfishness and i dont care, but i grew up my whole life without breast do to a surgery i had as a 4 month baby that caused me not to grow and I'm pretty damn healthy and fit and happy i did it, and momtoross i cant believe you would be so judgmental toward other posters as if you knew the real intentions and as if it were any of your business why people do it, it could be just to be lazy and so what it isn't your body, sorry to be rude but that was a stupid comment in my opinion

After I have my last baby/ies, and ive gotten to my goal weight, i will see how my stomach is. So far it hasnt faired well, with stretch marks and being a little oddly shaped now. I also have to deal with a hack surgery done in a small town hospital for gall bladder surgery that left a GIGANTIC thick scar,, its really terrible, so having that removed would be a plus.

I voted other, because I have no plans to *run* to surgery, but, I do absolutely plan on doing something about my girls. With each pregnancy, I've gone up one to two cup sizes - first pregnancy, D to DD, this pregnancy DD to DDD/E borderline F, and my history is that the girls don't shrink. DH and I are unsure whether we'll have one more after this one, so I won't do anything until we're 100% certain we're done having kids. But I _AM_ getting a reduction and lift when this is all done. Actually, I'm going to do the genetic testing to see if I'm a carrier of the BRCA mutation (my great grandmother and grandmother had breast cancer, my mom had a dual masc. due to pre-cancerous tumors at age 30) and if so, then I will reconsider our timetable for the surgery and talk with my OB/GYN about all my options. So, my decision is less vanity based (although, I REALLY HATE having huge breasts) as it is primarily health/physical comfort based. Although, I will admit, there is a thread of vanity there - (a)it's VERY hard to find good supportive sports bras for girls these sizes to run in(Enell is uncomfortable, so CWX is my choice); and (b) it would be nice to feel more proportional and be less self-concious in clothing that is a little more low cut/revealing.

I have every intention of "getting healthy the old-fashioned way." No surgery would be for weight loss. My breasts are very large but low, it will almost certainly cause extreme back problems in the years to come.

plus 2 - mine got smaller after my daughter. They went from a D to a C. I was THRILLED! If they shrink down even more this time, that's fine with me! I will say too, they didn't look "deflated" or utter like at all, either. Maybe it's because I was 24 when I had her, but everything shrunk back nicely.Also, I did get stretch marks at the very end (my silly daughter decided she could just cook in there forever and went overdue by over a week). I was not happy with them. But you know, they faded into NOTHING. The only one who can see them is me and I have to be looking. I had no qualms with getting into a bikini whatsoever.Lastly, I will agree that it has a lot to do with genes. My mother is tiny and she went right back to tiny after having my brother and I. I'm no where near as small as she is, but I had absolutely no trouble losing the weight after my daughter...I didn't even work out (don't stone me!). It just kind of fell off.

I can't believe everyone talks about SURGERY so complacently these days. I find it to be extremely vain to require a surgical procedure just to make my outside look better. I agree with sarahinparis - get heatlhy the old fashioned way, not just on the surface.Remember how well it went for Kanye's mom?

I have already told my hubby I would LOVE to have a breast lift after we are done having kids. I am still breastfeeding my 15 month old, so I am not sure of what the final result will be when I'm done .... but it's not looking good ...:) That being said, I literally had perfect C cup breasts pre-pregnancy (not bragging, just a fact ... lol) so I just kinda want them back!!!I don't think I would get lipo or anything like that though because my extra pounds are just an effect of me being lazy and not working out enough. The boobs though ... out of my hands!

I already told my bf after (if) we have kids, I am getting a boob job. I have nice tata's now and I know precnancy will ruin them :( IF I have lots of excess skin, I might consider a tummy tuck. But my mom had the 3 of us and hoenstly looks smokin' for 50. Her body is in as good as shape as me! No jokes! And I go to the gym about 3-5 times a week!

i have breast implants best decision for me, for personal reasons of course, and they look very real no one other than immediate family my fiance and his family know, it had nothing to do with saggy boobs because i didn't have any to sag, as far as tummy tuck don't need one at least not yet i went back to my size 0 i was a 2 for awhile which was very uncomfortable

If money was no object, I wouldn't run to a surgeon, but I would hire a personal trainer, a nutritionist, and a personal chef.

econinsf, thanks for not getting too graphic!! lol I haven't had kids yet so can't answer BUT really my only concerns are stretch marks and my boobs.I am SO glad to hear that for some women their boobs are the same afterwards. I don't want goat udders! I've heard many women say their breasts are smaller afterwards. Is that true,or do they just SEEM smaller b/c they got so big while you were pregnant?I like my breasts now and would never consider surgery but if they became MUCH smaller (and more udderlike) I might have to consider it....

I'd definitely get it done. But if I have my mother's genes, I won't need to. When she was pregnant, she had zero morning sickness, stretch marks, saggy breasts, and lost her weight very fast.
