The EPT commercials make it look so easy. Woman pees on stick, runs out of bathroom and jumps into the arms of her loverboy. But that's not always how the deal goes down. The dad-to-be may be at work, at the gym or traveling when the woman sees the two pink lines that will forever change her life. While many newly discovered pregnant ladies share their expectant news with their procreating partner before anyone else, some can't handle the pressure of waiting and ring up their moms, sisters, or best friends before breaking the news to the newly minted dad. So tell mommy, who was the first to hear of your baby news?

I would tell my husband first and then immediately call my mom. But I'd probably keep it on the DL until I was past the point where miscarriage is a pretty good possibility. I know my mom told her dad first, and then my dad.
1I told my girlfriend down the street bc I needed to know that someone else saw the little line on the test! haha My husband came home around 6 and I told him then. I did not tell the parents until a couple days later when my husband MADE me. LOL.
2Definitely told DH first, and we didn't tell ANYONE else until after 12 weeks. We just didn't trust our families to keep the news quiet because they've never been able to keep secrets..lol
3first the dad. then after couple of weeks or so my sister, as I thought: I can tell one person besides my bf (he and I lived in different countries at the time), best pick someone that's gone through it herself and is related. But as I turned out to be really badly affected by the nausea, I found it quite hard to keep it a secret, especially being on my own... so I told my office mate. The rest after 12 weeks!
4We had been trying for a long time and I tested at about 5:00 am and told SO right away. I told my parents soon after, by 5 weeks.
5I wouldn't dream of telling anyone before telling my husband, not under any circumstances. It's his child, he deserves to be the first to know.
6I wouldn't take the test without my hubby, so he'd know first. Then my mom and dad.
7I told my husband first, then my mom.
8My husband is always the first to know! After that it really varies depending on the occasion and who I'm talking to. With my 1st, my Dad was the last to know. I've always been a Daddy's girl and even after being well into my 20's and married for 3 years it took me a while to be comfortable telling him. It could also be because I'm his only child and we've always been close that I've always been a bit worried about dissappointing him no matter what I do. He's my hero next to my husband.
9I'm with Beaner -- hubs was right next to me while we were waiting for the test results! It wouldn't feel right to do it without him. My brother was the next person to know, and he was sworn to secrecy until we broke the news to the rest of the family a few weeks later.
10Always hubby. Every test I took, he was at home so he was always the first to know.
11My husband was the first to find out
We planned for him to be at home the morning I took my test because he was so excited and couldn't wait to find out. My mom was the second person we told.
12Hubby first. Still haven't told anyone else yet.
Waiting until it's further along.
13Usually my husband first, but with the 3rd pregnancy, I was on a weight loss chat board as I found out I was pg (at work - I took the test - I didn't think I really was...). So I was writing it on the board real-time, like "I'm pregnant. Calling husband. No answer." Then 10 mins. later "He's calling me back!" It was still exciting, but by number 3, it wasn't as big of a deal - we only talked for like 1 minute and he had to get back to work. Me too.
