Who Did You Consider First When Deciding on Another Child?

Many women have a magic number — how many children they hope to have. Age, health, finances, and ambitions are just a few of the realities that can influence a couple's decision to either keep procreating or be content with the family they have. Some mothers know the benefits of giving their child siblings, but others prefer to focus their attention on one offspring. How did you come to (or will you make) your decision?

3 years 40 weeks

I'm one of two, so is hubby, so always pictured two, not as hectic but company for our son, didn't want him to be an only child. Good for also we figured to learn to share, compromise and that it's not all about him, having to be less selfish than 1 child which I think would be lavished upon and more indulged. He has to think of his little sis too, just personal choice though. Happy with our boy and girl, and feel blessed. Also we preferred bigger gap of at least 3 years and have just over 3 years between the two which works out well for us, not two lots of baby gear and toddler stages etc at once!

My husband and I are talking about having another child and our son is 14 months now. Everyone has something to say abotu the age of the child when the second is born, but since we know he will react a different way at any age, we are trying to consider ourselves and when we will be ready to have 2 children.

Having come from a large family (5 kids), I would have preferred one child. My husband is an only and after talking it through with him, we've decided it's best for our daughter to have a sibling (hopefully!).
