What Do You Use as Bribe Bait?

Sometimes a sweet treat is all the incentive a tot on the verge of a meltdown needs to pull it together. A whopping 88 percent of lilsugar readers said they've bribed, ahem given their children an incentive to achieve an end result. So what is your kid's poison — lollipops, television time, new toys?

I find rewards work better, if you catch them being good and reward them accordingly you tend not to have to nag them as much.

Quarters, sure fire trick to get them to do what they're told. I might use dessert or going to the park/pool every now and then but quarters work the most and the quickest.

My son there is a little more bribing to get his patch on, his braces on his legs, get his teeth brushed, clothes on, morning restroom business, he loves his car toys so we allow him to pick a few to take with him in the car he also loves stickers, love this age (5) so easy to please

My son is only 16 months old and he doesn't know about candy- so I can get away with bribing him with rice cakes! :)

I use things like going to the park or a Popsicle. I try to not use monetary things or unhealthy things, I guess it makes me feel less guilty.

computer time works with my kids...they are all old enough to play games on it...they all get a hour or a bit more...if they do as momma says!

Totally depends on the situation, but it's rarely food. The dollar bins at Target are big ones. My younger son likes to buy cleaning supplies there. The only time food is involved is if they eat like two bites of dinner, claim to be full, but then want dessert.

depends, a soft drink or ice cream or maybe computer time. that's for something extra though. it's not like i offer it up for not throwing a hissy fit in target. this would be like "if you finish cleaning your sister's room with her you can both have ice cream" or "if you behave during the entire mass and don't fidget or complain we will stay and you may have a donut afterwards". and they know i am tough on the requirements, lol, so they either comply or don't even bring up the treat.

Hell yeah I use a bribe. In the morning, trying to get my toddler to get pee, get dressed, put and eye patch on and put his glasses on is a struggle EVERY DAY.The morning routine goes MUCH smoother when he wants to watch tv (while we get dressed) and we tell him he can't until he's done all of the above.
