Wee TV: Jon and Kate Plus 8 Safeguard Their Sextuplets

Names are one way a predator can lure a child away from their surroundings making the wee one feel a false sense of security even with a stranger.

On last night's episode of Jon and Kate Plus 8 concerned for their sextuplets safety in crowded places, the Gosselin's took preventative measures by taping their kids' embroidered backpacks.

caterpillar girl: i agree with you. i also think it's stupid when people put decals on their cars that have essentially stick figures representing every member of the family with names under each... DAD, MOM, JACK, JILL, FIDO etc. it's actually pretty dangerous for people to know your kids' names...

I see young college girls all the time with thier names on thier car license, or in the windows or front windshield (ashleys car!) and i think that is so stupid of them!

I love this show. I respect how they are raising their children. They really are doing a good job!

While I like that she is taking precautions, like said above, all it takes is someone to watch the show and they can find out their kids names!

Oh I love this show!! But yeah, like mentioned above, all you have to do is watch the show and there you go! Now you know all you need to know to lure one of them away. That is sad when you think about it though...

I love this show too. My favorite time to watch it is when I've had a tough day with my daughter. It puts it all in perspective and makes me feel so much better! I would also agree that her organization is CRAZY. I don't know how she does it. Although, if there were no order it would be total chaos.

I love Kate! She's not the "agrivated, annoyed" mom you typically see in grocery stores or where ever. She has her moments, but who can blame her? She's so patient and my sister and I love JON and KATE PLUS EIGHT!!

yeah, no kidding. strangers know a lot more than their names because of the show. but i like this family, they seam grounded. she described her one twin like this "her fantasy world is so much more interesting than anything we can offer her" which i thought was cute. the kids are all "originals".

I LOOOOVE that show. I don't have any kids and Kate's organization and cleaning puts me to shame. When Kate was talking about putting the tape over the backpacks I was thinking "well all I'd have to do is watch the show and call out a name."
