- Journal of Thanks: In a notebook or journal, have each member of the family write down what they are thankful for this year. If your children are too young to write themselves, transcribe it for them. Each year, take out the journal, and read the previous year's entries before jotting down your new thoughts. This can become a time-honored tradition in your home and serve as a wonderful keepsake as your family grows.
- Toasts of Thanks: Once everyone is seated for the big meal, go around the table and have each person say why they are thankful and then raise your glass and toast to it. Kids love to clink glasses.
- Thanks in Action: Ask each family member why they are thankful and then act on it. If you are thankful for your home, sign up for a build with Habitat For Humanity. If you are grateful for the bountiful dinner, volunteer at a soup kitchen.
