Waste Less, Save More
Most children are wasteful little devils when it comes to meal and snack times. Parents throw out countless amounts of Cheerios, hot dog bits, leftover yogurt, and half sipped juice boxes. Tots are carefree so it's up to parents to incorporate food saving remedies into our family routines. While mama may be doing it to save a buck, it won't hurt that she's helping out the environment with these easy tips to reduce her brood's waste.

I've recieved flack for this comment before, but if you're buying/replacing a deep freeze, get an upright! They are far better than the chest style because when you open it, you can see everything you have and you're not forced to guess/dig to the bottom to find something, or like many of us that have had chest styles freezers know, forget about the foods down there and end up having to toss a lot of it out! It may be less enviro friendly between the 2 freezers, but you'll be throwing far less away. I think the 2 balance eachother pretty well, and we've found we don't overbuy on things because we actually know what we have/don't have in our freezer.
1Another great thing is to make yoru own baby foods! You save a tonne in packaging! Even if you buy frozen fruits/veggies to make into baby food and then store the cubes in plastic bags in your freezer, you're still consuming far less plastic than buying the jarred style foods.
2I agree with the bulk waste on a general scale but that's where the freezing comes into play. We buy in bulk and I freeze it into individual portions and put them in baggies for later. Formula kind of isn't the best example because formula fed babies go through a LOT of formula.. my daughter was drinking 15-20 of the normal sized cans a month.
