The parents of our favorite supersize big brood, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, were recently interviewed by The Washington's Post's Sally Quinn about marriage and family. During the interview, the couple talked about how they navigate their own relationship and why they pray for fellow TLC parents Jon and Kate Gosselin during their much-publicized marital woes.

Thanks for sharing this video. I like how supportive they are of one another. Despite whether you agree with them having so many kids, you have to at least respect the fact that in today's world full of stress and high divorce rates, they have a loving relationship that has lasted.

I liked the content of your blog and the points you have mentioned that there is nothing like perfect marriage, communication, compromise, and the most effective tip to save a marriage is to be committed. Good reminder about to be committed, to be able to communicate, be willing to compromise, and be always in love.

I think they were not comfortable with the question either and they did handle it with class. They weren't all preachy about saying what they should do but stated what works for them. I may not agree with having 18 kids but admire their values.

They are so sweet! I'm certainly not judging them as parents, especially since their kids seem to be living a great life, and I appreciate that they are not judging the Gosselins.

While I agree that is irresponsible to have so many children for most people, I have to make an exception with the Duggars. What a beautiful family. What great parents and spouses. Everyone could learn something from these people. My hat off to them!

The Duggars may have the older children to help out, but the Gosselins have an army of paid helpers. It's been a long time since Kate Gosselin had to do any REAL hands-on parenting of her children.

I do not share the same respect for the Duggars that most do. They are having babies and having their older children raise them. What they are doing is very selfish IMO.

The Duggars have a completely different situation. The kids are able to help a great deal with household chores and even childcare. Jon and Kate had 8 young kids all at once. I'm the oldest of 5, and it's much easier for parents when siblings are able to help out with each other. Other parents of multiples would be better equipped to offer the Gosselins advice.

I have a large family as well,(7 children) but we are not religious at all. However, I really admire the Duggars.For people who are judged constantly for their lifestyle, they never seem to be judgemental of anyone elses. They seem so genuine in their concern for Jon and Kate. They practice what they preach in terms of respect for each other and their children. I agree with a lot of things that they said. Hopefully the Gosselins will be able to work things out.

frank, I think he (Mr. Duggar) was uncomfortable with the question as well. And the interviewer asked them, they didn't just offer it w/out being asked. I thought it was in poor taste personally for the interviewer to even ask. But they handled it well I think.

I don't like when people give unsoliticited advice but the Duggars seem to have a good relationship and genuinely nice people and Michelle is totes growing on me but still not a fan of Jim Bob.

Tina I so agree with you. I may not agree with the Duggars lifestlye, but they have such a loving, respectful relationship and it really shows.

There's a video going around of Kate Gosselin getting ready to give an interview with her kids. One of her daughters is begging for something to drink. Kate gets a bottle of water from her staff, but instead of giving it to her daughter she drinks it herself while her thirsty daughter watches. She never does get the child any water. I wonder if this story will make one of lilsugar's posts about how she just looooooves Kate Gosselin.

While I'm not religious at all, I have so much respect for the Duggars. They are always very kind and patient with one another and I think John and Kate could learn a lot from them.

I want to see a Dugar/Gosselin crossover episode. Michelle and Kate are SO different and it would be funny to see them parenting together. I relate to Kate, but I admire Michelle.
