Would You Consider Vaginal Reconstruction?

It is a well known fact that many women tear during vaginal deliveries. While stitching and kegels may help in the reparations, some mothers opt to have their lady parts surgically reconstructed.

A mother of two, Violet Estrada, told surgeon David Matlock that she wanted to feel like a 14-year-old again. Fulfilling her desires, he performed a procedure that tightened her genitals. A fan of the results, she praised her doctor for recapturing her youth and effectively improving her sex life.

Would you consider having vaginal reconstruction after child bearing?

Okay, let me start by saying we all know that at 14, 15, 16 whatever...just YOUNG that you have the highest sensitivity and everything feels tight and new so why not want to feel like 14 again???? I'd totally do it, in a heartbeat!! If we can watch Angelina Jolie become a sex symbol after having a litter I'm sure us numbered people can do what we want to be just as sexual or feel beautiful. You think most celebrities don't get these surgeries done?? They do!! and they will and even though it may be a new concept for some people the rich have been doing this forever...why do you think they look so good!! YOU GO GIRL!!!! BTW... the slut comments are just jealousy...those are people who nobody ever wanted to have sex with anyway.

Its been 3 weeks since the birth of my son, and Im still in agony! I had tearing threw the lips of my vagina which followed up to my clitoris and then higher up still. Also had some trauma to the inside. SO.. after 3 weeks I inspect myself and notice Im not healing the way I wished. I will NOT look at all the same down there when everything is said and done. I for one WOULD go for the surgery. I liked the way things looked before things got all torn up. Now, things dont line up the way they should, Im way more open and it will not heal closed to where it was before. This has been a horrible experience for me, and I would also be on the list of people who would like to be given the choice for an elective C-Section. I would take the known risks, the predictible pain, the scar in 1 spot instead of all over, and the known recovery time. No one ever told me it was possible I still wouldnt be able to walk/sit/stand/pee properly 3 weeks after a vaginal delivery. So, Im a YES!! Sign me up! I would love to look the way I did before childbirth.

I really think it depends, if I had issues after my vaginal births then I would totally consider it. Since I'm ok I don't think I would want to be 14 again as losing my virginity was a bitch LOL

oh Blair I'm so sorry that had to have been an awful thing to go through. I can imagine that if that happened to me I'd want to have reconstructive surgery too but it wouldn't be to be like a 14 yr old again.. your situation is much different IMO.

I would totally do it! When I was having my son, my doctor decided that it would be easier (she said for me but I don't believe her) if I tore, instead of giving me an episiotomy like I had with my first. Well, instead of tearing down towards the perineum, I tore up, literally! This is TMI *WARNING* I tore my inner labia up towards my clitoral hood. I hate the way it looks, it is very hard for me still to even look down there. So I would definetely get this done, not for pleasure reasons but just so I feel WHOLE again.

I think i would have it done depending on my situation. I need to read about the negative side affects first to see if it would be actually worth it.

Actually, per my family doctor, there is some permanent conditions in the vagina after giving vaginal birth (not c-section). My doctor says that inner walls/muscles sag due to being stretched by the baby coming through (head, shoulders, etc.). The muscles NEVER fully go back to pre-birth (per my doctor). He's been practicing medicine for over 15 years, and examined countless female patients. I hope this is not TMI, but he could tell I never given vaginal birth (I was never pregnant) due to the inner condition of my nether region. He said I didn't have to tell him. Just want to share what my doc told me.

Well, I guess it's no mystery at what age she started sluttin' it up..I won't make any decisions about vaginal reconstruction before any deconstruction occurs lol I've had no kids yet, so there's no need -- and even after that, is it really necessary? I thought the human body's pretty good at fixing itself. Though my sister has said you "never feel the same down there" again after giving birth..

I agree, the 14 yr old comment is creepy and I also agree with meandtheo - good exercise will tighten you up anywhere you want it and people are always looking for the easy way out.

Same here -- 14 years old?? Um, okay. Some girls just start to menstruate around that age. As for me, I wouldn't consider vaginal reconstruction. It's not necessary. I'm child-free by choice. Also, I'm petite -- all over. :)

i think a good exercise program will tighten you up everywhere....people are always looking for the easy way out. and yes the 14 year old comment is creepy.
