Upset If Others Announced Aspects of Pregnancy?

My mom always says that a person's news is their news, and he or she should be the one to announce it. When it comes to having a baby some mamas-to-be like to keep the pregnancy, due date and the sex of the child under wraps or disclose those things to a limited circle.

But, this week it seems nothing is sacred when it comes to the impending members of the Jolie-Pitt clan. While the world anxiously speculated about the wee ones, Jack Black outed the twin factor. And then, Dustin Hoffman revealed Angelina's supposed due date.

As a starlet, she lives her life in the public eye, but would you be irritated if someone announced your news?

i would mind. but honestly this seemed set up. as if they had waited so long to say anything that this was as good an opportunity as any, and it was a happy time to do it.

If I don't want people to know (and tell other people), I just don't tell them in the first place.

I've always said it is AJ/BP's news to tell or keep private but I think they had decided to confirm. I think Angelina found it funny that Jack went with the gossip and made it light-hearted. Jack seemed a little stung by it all later on.

Personally, this kind of thing never bothered me. Who cares who announced what? The important thing is the excitement of pregnancy and the support of the people around you. I always thought it was kind of sweet when people were so excited about my pregnancy that they couldn't wait to tell others news.

i'm with you albeli- i think this was all just another publicity stunt staged to promote them for her movie- wait for the "perfect" timing to get more press, pretty puthetic.

i think it was just a slip of the tongue, just get caught up in what he was saying..the oops..can't backtrack fast enough...all she could do was go with the flow. i'd be a bit upset, but if its a honest mistake, i'd forgive. but if its a just a big mouth just blabbing it out just because they can't shut up, then i'd be po'd.

I think it would be hard, b/c I bet they do talk about normal things like this with friends, and then you're in an interview trying to act normal and something that just seems like a normal thing to talk about pops out. Ultimately, I'd be pissed if someone revealed info to more general public than I intended...

I would be upset if someone I trusted revealed information about my pregnancy. I do believe that Jack revealing Angelina's information was an honest mistake.

I dont think they meant to blab it out. I think it just slipped because there is so many rumors and stuff they probably thought that the public already knows. lol.

Yeah I'd be mad! That is my and my SO's news to tell -- no one else's! I would feel as though someone 'stole my thunder' lol :)I'm just surprised that when she did divulge the news to her friends that she didn't also tell them we aren't telling the 'public'. Yeah it may have been an accident, but I can't imagine that <i>both</i> of them would mess up like that!

I'd be ticked. Really ticked. It's a respect issue for me, people should know that boundary. However, in a situation like Jack Black where he doesn't even seem to realize he did it until it's too late, it's not as big of a deal. He brings it up in conversation, he doesn't just blatantly share information.
