Lil Tip: Cribbin' in the Hotel

Many hotels offer traveling families a crib in the hotel room. A nice accommodation indeed, it's even nicer that they offer sheets to go with it.

However, I still like to travel with my own baby's bedding. I don't mean the entire crib set but at least the fitted sheet. I find it helps her transition to her new surroundings quickly and makes her feel at home. Plus, they are much softer than the washed up hotel sheets.

FYI: If you call up the hotel directly and let them know that you are travelling with children you can ask what they have available. In some hotels you can have a extra fridge added, play-pen, high chair, microwave, diaper genie, and have the room child proofed. That way you can pack less and still have the comforts of home with out the hassle.

I definitely recommend bringing your own sheets. On the other hand, if a hotel supplies you with a crib that has BARS, you would be better off with your child in the bed with you. When i was little, my parents put me in a hotel crib that had bars. They woke up with me screaming bloody murder. My head had gotten stuck between the bars and they had to disassemble the crib in order to get me out. Just use your parental instincts when using ANYONE else's crib or baby products. There are always dangers for your children that you may not see.
