Walking the aisles of Target recently, a new line of toys for preschoolers caught my eye. The toys seemed to reinforce some of the everyday sights and sounds that a preschooler experiences. After a little research, I learned that the Cranium Bloom line of games and toys, which are exclusively sold at Target, were developed to help a child “create, discover, perform and connect” and that is exactly what each of the 14 items do. To learn more about the line, read more.
The “Time to Cook” toys in the line include the “Let’s Play Measure and Cook Activity Set” ($14.99) — where kids can customize their own apron and learn to make their own food all while teaching counting and matching skills — and the “Let’s Play Sandwich Stacker Game” ($12.99) where children compete against each other to match and stack silly sandwich combinations while learning shapes and colors.
The “All About Town” toys include a “Let’s Play Neighborhood Sounds Bingo Game” ($14.99) where preschoolers listen to neighborhood sounds like dogs barking and bells ringing to play Bingo while learning about sound recognition and matching, while the “Let’s Explore the Neighborhood Activity Deck” ($7.99) encourages children to draw petals on flowers and count the people that they see on rewritable activity cards with an erasable pen.
