Top Trends at Toy Fair 2011

The iTunes store is packed with iPad apps for kids, but plenty of parents aren't willing to hand their tablets over. Fisher Price, V-Tech, and LeapFrog are offering up versions designed specifically for youngsters. The Fisher Price Learn Through Music TouchPad ($50) features 42 touchpoints to help toddlers learn through rhythm, rhyme, repetition, and music, as well as a microphone for singing along with Dora, Thomas, and the Little People. V-Tech's InnoPad ($80) is the company's new iPad-like interactive learning product that comes with three games, one ebook (complete with a great dictionary component), a built-in stylus, a USB port for computer connections, a kickstand to allow it to be converted into AA digital photo frame, and the ability to transfer in photos. LeapFrog's The LeapPad ($100) will come with ebook capabilities that adjust to kids' reading levels, a built-in camera, and Leapster Explorer compatibility, meaning it can support all of the games and cartridges already associated with the handheld learning device.
