Toddlers and Tiaras: Tootie/Madison Split Personalities

What mother would encourage her kid to have split personalities? Stacy Berg. The pageant mom err, self-proclaimed assistant and slave to her 10-year-old explained (with a straight face) that the girl is Madison at church and school and Tootie when it's time to impress the judges. The seemingly down-to-earth Madison plays soccer and enjoys the outdoors. Then, she takes on a sassy and demanding attitude as Tootie prepping for the glitz and glam of taking to the stage. When the child compared her two personalities, she said Tootie would never play soccer, but Madison would win a race since Tootie would "wear high heels." While I was aghast over last week's episode, this one left me speechless.

Madison "Tootie" Berg seemed like a self absorbed little snot head in my opinion. She made herself look like an outright fool on national television. I have to agree with the poster above me, she is destined for teen pregnancy, a criminal record, or rehab. Her parents are just as bad for enabling this behaviour. DISGUSTING

I find this show very interesting, but am not sure why, as I can just imagine all the paedos watching the show getting off over it, FACT! I think tootie is a pretty little thing, but her attitude is awful, and you can not blame the camera man or production company, she did not have a gun held to her head and told to act like that, she came accross as a person that had no feelings towards anyone else, glad she is not my child!

It is not Tooties(Maddisons) fault that she is the way she is! It is her mothers because Tootie was raised like a princess, and not dissiplined the way she should have been. Many people are calling her the "B word", well she is a freakin 10 year old! It is unexeptible for a grown audult to call a 10 year old the "B word"! You sound almost as immature as her! Grow up, people! And I am mature because I am only 13! More mature than half the audults on here!

What a little witch. I was glad she didn't win any higher than she did. She really isn't a pretty child, some of the others were far prettier and had better attitudes as well. I bet she becomes one of these bitchy cheerleaders in high school, with her head shoved up her ass.

Ok so all u judgemental people have no clue what you are talking about. I started pageants at 8 months old. Yes i had moments when i was stressed or the pageant was tense and im sure may have not had a great attitude but i loved doing them. Just because madison came off wrong on camera does not tell us who she really is. Im sure we all have moments we wouldnt want the camera to capture. This girl obviously loves what she does or she wouldnt do it. From experience, you cant be forced to do them by your parents. Ok so she doesnt have split personalities its just a nickname...all the girls at pageants act different because its not an everyday setting..its intense but so fun.

I just watched the rerun of this episode with Madison and was just shocked at her behavior. She gives a bad name to pageants and they should forbid her from participating in any further pageants. I would also be so ashamed to show my face in public if I were her mother - she is a sorry excuse for a parent to encourage this behavior.

"She portrayed herself as a very ungrateful, spoiled brat!!!!" Wrong. The producers of this reality show on TLC are to blame for that. I know Madison/"Tootie" also. Tootie is just a nickname...Not like a whole split personality which was portrayed! She definitely has her moments, but she really is a good kid. Also, some people have commented that they didn't think tootie really liked competing--which is wrong. If tootie didn't want to compete, she wouldnt!!

It should be obvious to anyone with an ounce of objectivity that Madison/Tootie is simply a normal girl with mixed feelings about being involved the pageants. Being Madison/Tootie is her way of keeping her personal and public life separate. It shows that she is insightful and aware of the fantasy part of the pageants and her demeanor is quite normal under the circumstances. Please let her manage her life as she wishes without making assumptions and being judgemental.

I love this show!!!!! but I'm not such a big fan of the pageants.i don't have like anything against them and i don't hate or have anything against people who are in them or did them and i am aware of the fact that not everyone who competed in the is a brat, but i don't love the idea of being judged on something that you cant help. And i don't like that you don't have to work to win because your being judged on your beauty. and alot of people say that they are good for self esteem reasons and they probably are for kids who are always being crowned most beautiful, but pageants probably crush the self esteems of kids who never win. If i were going to put my kids in some type of competition, i would put them in a dance competition, sports, ice skating etc. or some thing that the have to work towards to win.

Wow- I just watched the episode. What a poor little girl. ( Tootie) So self absorbed and unaware of reality. I hate to imagine what she will be like when she grows up. Her poor sportsmanship and attitude when asked a simple question at the end of the show really showed her and her parents true colors.

Well I can tell you I happen to know Madison (Tootie). She is a very sweet girl.. Of course like any child they all have there moments. I hate that the show decided to make her out to be something she is not. I was shocked when I watched the episode because I knew that she is not at all the way she was portrayed on the show. Also Tootie is a nickname given to her as a child and the producers of the show came up with the idea of the comparing Tootie and Madison. She does not have a double personality. You obviously don't know much about reality tv. There is no reality to it.
