Parenthood is hot! Frankle is asking our readers for some tips for beating the Summer heat in The Mommy Club group.

I have a 9 month old baby, and we live in Barcelona. It's getting pretty hot here and she's not dealing with it too well. I give her water every 30 minutes, give her sponge baths, keep some moisturizer in the fridge which I massage [on] her. I was wondering if anyone else had some tips on how to keep baby cool?

When we are outside, I keep her in the shade with a hat on, SPF 50 sunscreen and lots of water.

Sneaky baby! You could always drop some ice-chips in her diaper! I just tried frozen fruit, it worked great for both my 4 year old and me.

Fold up a piece of paper accordion-style and fan her with it. It might make your arm tired but it keeps baby nice and cool!

Ahh that sounds so fun! We thought about buying one, but then decided against it because we have a cat and she loves scratching stuff!

If you have room, and time for it - one of those small pools in the shade is really awesome. They do look kind of tacky, but if you don't have an inground, they are really worth it. My daughter was 6-9 months for summer and we had an absolute BLAST in the pool. Just hanging out, relaxing and beating the heat. We would be doing it this summer, but my son is too young.

I am a huge fan of aden+anais muslin blankets. Last summer I used them to keep the sun off of him because I kept him in as few clothes as possible! I used them as a sun shade because they are white they dont absorb the heat and because they are cotton muslin they allow a breeze through them. Also, I don't know if you are feeding your little on solids yet but cold or frozen fruit (in really small chunks), like watermelon, help too. Just avoid frozen dairy and sugar because the sugar makes you more thirsty and dairy can raise your core temp a smidge.

Gahh! I get paranoid if Summers more than 5 minutes in full sun! Shes inherited my pale skin.
