It's travel season! Mamas need all the help they can get when it comes to flying with their tots. MiaFT is looking for some advice before her lil one's first flight. She posted her question in The Mommy Club group.

Hi moms! I am coming to you for advice! I have just booked my first flight with my daughter. She will be almost 2 years old when we take our first trip in June. I am hoping that you will share your helpful tips and advice for traveling with a toddler. I don't know where to begin! Thank you!

i don't have a kid, but i travel a ton for work. i've seen all of the above-mentioned ideas work! the wrapping toys one seems to get fussy kids to cheer up. and, if you only do one thing. bring snacks, plenty of snacks! and remember the headphones for your electronic devices! i was on a flight with a mom who promised her little one they'd watch "alvin and the chipmunks" on the plane...but forgot the headphones. to avoid a meltdown, she just played the movie anyway...sans headphones. one of the most annoying flight experiences ever! i think i would have rather listened to the kid scream! :ROTFL:

I have a friend who wraps up toys in wrapping paper (even a box of 3 crayons) so that unwrapping a toy in-flight takes some of the time. She swears by it! I also think that squeeze packets of food are great for takeoff and landing! Good luck and let us know how it goes!

For take-off and landing, have something chewy for her. I go to Target and buy things like Swedish Fish and gummy bears. The chewing motion will help with the ear popping. If she'll take a sippy cup, that's better, but I find my daughter is more inclined to eat sweets on demand than drink on demand! Also, have some new toys and books for her (for each way). I bought a Leap Frog Leaptop computer (a little "laptop") which kept my daughter happy for most of an 8-hour flight. Books, crayons and coloring books, and snacks take up most of the space in my carry on bag! Along with snacks. As Lauren says, a hungry kid is a cranky kid! Good luck!

So the lil team has a ton of tips! I know my sister in law is amazing with my niece when she goes home to Texas, first she makes sure the ipad has a ton of videos and kids friendly activities, she originally used her iphone. Also makes sure to bring snacks for her too since a hungry kid is just cranky. Good luck and I am sure your daughter will do great!
