The kids in Leicester, England came up with a new approach to spreading the word on teen pregnancy. Instead of using the traditional methods of speakers or pamphlets, the Leicester Teenage Pregnancy and Parenthood Partnership made a "homemade" video that would appeal to their peers. Forty-eight percent of LilSugar readers said they would show this film to their children as a preventative measure.

I'm disturbed by the topic and the assumption that "kids under 18 years old" are having kids. How do you "have" kids? You have sex. Kids aged 14 are likely not to be virgins as they are. It's about 50/50. If they're old enough to have sex, they'll have kids themselves. We're looking at this the wrong way. The sin is not having sex - because they're going to do it, and have done it, in spite of the past 20 years of being told to wait. The sin is not telling them the consequences of their actions. Of not giving them the tools to prevent disease and pregnancies in the act. Of not guiding them that they should have sex with people that they have a great affection or even love for. Right now, it's a forbidden fruit. Those are always REALLY tasty! People that don't know better will get into trouble. We need better communications with our kids. That means talking WITH our kids, not TO our kids.
