Teen Mom Says She Has to "Babysit," Is That Something Parents Do?

Does the term "babysitting" apply when you're a parent? Lots of women say that their husbands are "babysitting" when the moms take a break, but isn't tending to a child par for the course when you are raising a family? Last night on Teen Mom 2, Jenelle talked about having to babysit her son Jace to prove to her own mother, Barbara, (who has custody of the child) that she was on the right track. What's your opinion?

No. Parents do not babysit. My ex and I have this argument all the time. He actually once said to me that he "babysat our daughter every other weekend" so I can have free time. Cannot even begin to tell you how angry that makes me!!

This is a unique circumstance, but still no. Parents are not babysitters.

I voted no...but there is kindof a gray area to me. I am a SAHM so obviously I am with our son the vast majority of the time. My husband is an awesome father but he just doesnt know the routine or tricks I utilize throughout the day, therefore I look at it as though my husband is "watching" our son...because I am the primary caregiver. My husband couldnt handle more than a couple of hours alone with our son I dont think. He's never had to. He'd figure it out if need be though. I dont really think of it as "babysitting", but I do think of it as hubby "watching" our son. Semantics I guess.
