As a former teacher, I can certainly understand how students can try a teacher's patience. But a Houston teacher crossed the line when she demeaned her four and five–year–old pupils. Fortunately, one of the parents caught the ludicrous comments on a digital recorder and brought it to the school's attention.

Watch the clip and tell us, do you think the teacher has the right to talk like that to her lil schooligans in that manner or should she be fired? What wild act will be caught on tape next?

I've had multiple teachers that would yell at the class in this manner, this is no surprise. There isn't a single teacher that hasn't gotten frustrated with their class and this won't be the last. Anyone who has to 'parent' 30 or so kids at that age will eventually go bonkers.

I had a teacher in 5th grade that told me I was never going to amount to anything and that no one would ever want to be my friend. Crazy right? I was an insecure little girl who was shy and withdrawn. I have no idea why she choose to tell me these things. I hope that she is not a teacher today.

Even though she shouldn't have yelled at the kids like that, I do not think that any of them will be scarred for life. If they are then they are way too sensitive.

Hey i grew up when teachers were still aloud to smack you and spank you and be politically incorrect, so this doesnt phase me. Maybe that teacher was having a bad day, or two, or three.

You should be fired. Period. Imagine the damage she has done to those 4 and 5 yr olds self-esteem, and their impression of school and teachers. Who knows how long she's been doing this for????

Oh Boy! I am thinking this teacher is burnt out and needs to stop teacher children. I am very proud of the parents at finding the problem. Good Job!

I can't believe that. I am listening to it thinking this woman should never have entered the teaching field. It is never okay to speak to any student that way, no matter the age, but to a group of four and five year olds!? She absolutely should be suspended.

i saw this on another site and the teacher's attorney said she "blamed the incident that day on medication she had been taking". so right there she's said it's not her fault and she's sick. why would she even want to go back to the district after that? everyone must instantly recognize her and comment.

She needs to be fired. I agree with ann418 that the teacher sets the tone and controls the environment, and the kids are feeling just as bad and hating school when the teacher is like this. Anyone who thinks teachers have it easy hasn't spent the energy trying to focus 30 kids for a day. My husband teaches, and I can't even imagine having to do what he does all day. I believe there is a patience requirement for teaching, and every teacher has to have an understanding that kids are kids and adults need to always be adults and NEVER come down to that level.

Being from Houston, Memorial Elementary is in a very affluent neighborhood "the villages" feed into it, and it's been around forever. It will be handled because of the pressure from parents, but what makes me sad is how many schools aren't receiving this attention because of their location.. Another thing, this teacher has taught for 30+ years.. It makes you wonder if she's snapped, or how many other kids have dealt with this and just not said anything.. She has been reassigned to an office job in the admin building, and I highly doubt she'll continue to work for that school district, especially with the attention this has received.

Fire her. She is simply wrong.Im a preschool teacher and I have never talked to a child that way and wouldn't even think to. It is wrong and it goes against a teacher's oath as an authority figure and trusted caregiver of children.

My husband was telling me about this - it's outrageous! She shouldn't be teaching children as she obviously has no patience.

Omigosh! That's horrible! I can't beleive any teacher would talk that way to any kids but 4 AND 5 YEAR OLDS!?!? Jeebus. Forget suspension. She should not be teaching ANY children ANY more.

Yea, she should be fired. That's completely unacceptable. They're 4 and 5!!! One of my teaching philosophies has always been, "If you're stressed out, imagine how the kids feel." It's not their fault they might be acting up, it's completely the teacher's fault.
