Did You Pick Your Stroller Based on Your First Child's Gender?

When it comes to strollers, every parent has a personal preference. Deciding between all-in-one systems and collapsible umbrella strollers may seem like the biggest decision at the time, but after paying a visit to the baby superstore, mamas-to-be learn that the decision-making process has just begun.

While some mothers of soon-to-arrive lil girls may have their hearts set on pink strollers, others think more practically and go with a gender-neutral one that could also work with future tots. Stroller manufacturers seem to be keeping this in mind as they introduce more fashionable unisex designs, such as Bugaboo's new all-black Cameleon which will make its debut in early Summer.

Did you pick a gender-specific stroller, or did you go more unisex?

We bought a Bugaboo Cameleon. You can change the cover to be boy, girl or gender neutral. We have denim, hot pink & khaki covers to fit every mood. I'm thinking about getting the orange cover for fall.

All gender neutral for us. Who wants to buy all that stuff again if you have a different gender the 2nd time. Only thing we got in pink was an extra bouncer...and I felt really bad putting my baby boy in it!!! I always covered it up with a blue blanket first (even though we only used it in the house, upstairs).

We also got lucky with our stroller and carseat happening to match our 1st born's gender. I picked this really nice Graco travel system that had a removable bassinette, and because of that you could also switch the directing the bassinette mounted onto the stroller cage which meant baby could face in or out. It was an almond/beige color with little blue elephants I think. I used the car seat for all 3 kids, but the stroller didn't last well after the 1st baby so it's at my parents house for when we visit. I loved the style and design, and found that when we had our girls, I just used accessories in pink. Girls look good in blue, but boys do tend to look funny in pink!

Ours was bright godawful ugly orange! But it was a floor model of a super nice Peg Perego stroller that we wouldn't have been able to afford, and the reduced price made up for the color.

Pink strollers are usually really ugly. I picked a gender neutral one because it had all the features I was looking for (not that I really had a clue, I got lucky) and was kinda pretty...
