greggie... good to know it's not just US w/the textural issues. its funny to me how they KNOW what they want, and what they dont SO clearly SO early... and you're right he'll eat it when HE'S ready to... not when i'm ready to feed it to him....

I think 4 was a trick question as well. My first was all for solids as well. Oddly though, he's an incredibly picky eater.

3/5--I think #4 was a trick question! AAP current recommendation is to introduce solids not before 6 months. Greggie--my oldest resisted solids well into the 8/9th month. She went straight from nursing to finger food. My 2nd couldn't wait to start on solids. She would lunge at our food. She's still a chowhound.

My middle child couldn't do anything with texture until he was well over a year, probably about 14 months. We just added things as he was ready rather than by any schedule. Now he's the most adventurous eater in the family. *lol*My daughter is 9 months and still has very little interest in any solids. She's been refusing anything but nursing for two weeks.

he'll eat pizza crust & bread crusts tho... oh and TEDDY PUFFS he'll crunch and chew those to no end!!!

schnappy... we're having an issue w/anything that isnt smoother than that babys @ss... haha... it cracks me up, he'll eat well... as long as it's blended w/in an inch of it's life... if there's a chunk ANYWHERE (even in bananas) he will open his mouth and let it fall out & look at you like WHAT IS THAT that you just tried to poison me with.... and we're s'posed to be giving him meats & chicken and yeah... sooooo not happening, every attempt has been a comedic drama!!!

3/5. However, #1 is wrong. The current recommendation is that children not start solids until at least six months, but most people still use the 4 month rule anyway.

Ugh, I'm having huge issues with solids right now. I suck at cooking and can't figure out what to give my son next. Plus, I'm terrified of choking, so his pieces are so tiny that I fear I'll never let him have larger ones. I never thought food would be such an issue at this stage.

Yeah 100%!!! And it's been a few years so I'm glad to know that with my second one coming soon, I still have a decent handle on this stuff!
