Tiny Bubbles: Shirley Temples Make It so Everyone Can Toast

Who says toasting can't involve tots? If you are hosting a dinner party or heading out to a restaurant or wedding, consider concocting or ordering some bubbly for the small set; that way everyone has a glass when it comes time to cheers at special events.

Forget sparkling cider and go retro by picking my daughter's poison — Shirley Temples and Roy Rogers! Though the recipes vary, my girl likes her mocktail simple — 7-up, splash of grenadine syrup, hold the maraschino cherry. The Roy Rogers is essentially the same, but you swap out the 7-up for cola. Do these drinks make you nostalgic?

lol. we never got them because it's a TOTALLY inflated price for them to splash in some grenadine. I love them at home though, for special occasions. We don't normally buy soda, but if we are having a big dinner with friends or family, we get a few sodas and some grenadine. Cherry flavor works with about everything.

I love Shirley Temples! I have found memories of going to the skating rink and ordering them. I would sit at the bar stool at the counter drinking them with my skates on feeling like a total bad ass.

When I was younger, it was a fairly regular thing for my family to drive a few towns away to visit with my Aunt and Uncle and their kids. We'd often go out for supper to the amazing Chinese restaurant and while the adults would have a beer or wine, the kdis could pick whatever they'd like and I ALWAYS had a Shirley Temple! I loved those things! Sadly, I've forgotten about them for my own kids until you've now reminded me, and I'm sure I'll be mixing up a few of them from now on!
