Pass on "peanut," there are more inventive nicknames of the edible variety! This morning on Today, Sandra Bullock was glowing when she called Louis, her New Orleans-born babe, a "little Cajun cookie." A while back, Bethenny Frankel referred to her daughter Bryn as a "chickpea" and compared the swaddled preemie to a spring roll. Food nicknames have long been used to describe wee ones, from "sweet pea" to "chili pepper" and "jumping bean" to "cupcake"; what delicious nicknames do you have for your children?

My son has been nicknamed Peanut since the minute he was born (under 5lbs at birth), or I call him Mr. man. our oldest daughter is sweet pea, missy or baby girl. our newest addition hasnt really gotten one yet...although I do tend to call her my cuddle bug,

I call my little girl nugget or Turkey Dog sandwich. She loves both. :)

When she was still young enough to be swaddled, my daughter was a "baby burrito." That name stuck for a long time, since we'd wrap her up in a towel after she got out of the bath. Even now, she'll point out the "baby burrito" when she sees a picture of a baby swaddled or wrapped in a towel.

lol schnappy we do the SAME thing. Our nickname for our daughter was always bean because of how tiny and happy she was swaddled with her legs up. Looked just like a bean.

When my son was an infant, I started calling him honey bunches (or just bunches), which sometimes resulted in honey bunches of oats, like the cereal. I have no idea why. LOL.

For some reason I call my kid and my friend's kids all honey bee or sugar.
