Take a dive! When it's scorching hot out, one sure way to cool off is a dip in the pool, lake, or ocean. Kids and parents alike love splashing around, but lil ones should learn to do more than that. Last year the American Academy of Pediatrics began encouraging children as young as 1 year old to participate in swim lessons, depending on how often they are exposed to water.
