Pregnant Poehler More Amazing Than Palin on SNL!

Everyone tuned into Saturday Night Live to see Tiny Fey and Sarah Palin go head to head, but it was a very pregnant Amy Poehler who stole the show. The expectant mama spit out a rap sequence while bouncing around stage big belly without every missing a beat or losing her breath.

What's the most physical thing you did while pregnant?

We moved up a block. Too close to use the movers (except for the very big stuff we could never move on our own) and too far to be able to move without people staring at the BIG FAT PREGNANT WOMAN MOVING A MICROWAVE up 6th street. Hats off to Amy - show 'em how it's done.

I can't believe Amy is able to move around so much with that big belly of hers! She did a great job. I can't wait to find out what the sex of the baby is, and what Amy and her husband Will Arnett decide to name him or her.

Ohhh. I don't think Amy was being compared to Palin here. I think all that was being said was that Amy's hilarious performance surprisingly out-shined the much anticipated face to face meeting of Sarah Palin and Tina Fey.

I agree she didn't have to, and she knew about it. My point is that it's not comparable to Poehler doing her daily job. It's like saying "Christina Aguilera More Amazing Than Greggie at the Grammys!!" Of course she would be, it's her talent and not mine.

Palin didn't have to participate in anything she was uncomfortable with. They rehearse the skits ahead of time, so it wasn't as if they just sprung it on her on live tv. Most political figures who go on SNL just do a short one-liner kind of thing, especially if they are on the campaign trail. They stomped all over her, and she agreed to it. Yes, it takes guts, but it doesn't make her look good (although she did show that she has rhythm :)). Amy is amazing!

I have to agree with Greggie on this one. I can't imagine going on that show knowing how much I am despised/mocked. That takes some guts. That being said, I love that Amy is game for anything, even heavily pregnant!

I think it's unfair to say she was more amazing than Palin, though. Amy Poehler's used to that kind of thing. Her pregnancy of course makes it more difficult, but she's been doing stuff like this the whole time from what I've seen. Palin went into an atmosphere where she knew the vast majority of people loath her, and she was mocked relentlessly. The rap isn't in good fun, it's normal SNL flat-out condescending mocking. I wouldn't expect or want less from SNL, but it can't be easy to sit there and keep a good face on for it.

I couldn't do much of anything physical with the second two, it was a huge drag.

I was also amazed that it was so late at night and she has that stamina. Good for Amy! It was hilarious.I didn't do too much while pregnant, partly because I had painful bladder spasms that worsened with any serious physical activity. But I did go to Breckenridge for a weekend at about 7 months and we did quite a bit of walking, which is hard pregnant at that altitude. Otherwise, I took it pretty easy. But I generally wasn't too short of breath, I don't think.

I carried my computer bag everyday (it weighs about 15-20lbs). Which I didn't think was a big deal but I would get a lot of flak from clients. I was still moving around monitors and G5s/Mac Pros up until about 7 months when I pulled something in my lower belly and I freaked myself out. When I watched that video the first time I totally missed that she was pregnant.

I don't know how she did it. I was so out of breath in the last few weeks of my pregnancy. I remember having a hard time getting a work presentation out of my mouth, no less a rap!
