Politikid Damon Weaver Interviews Obama at the White House

One precocious, 11-year-old aspiring journalist made his way to the White House! Prior to the inauguration of President Barack Obama, Damon Weaver, then 10, launched his own campaign asking for an interview with the soon to be commander-in-chief. But the young man wasn't looking for a handout; he has a resume that rivals most professional reporters. He has interviewed Vice President Joe Biden, Caroline Kennedy, and others.

His dream came true recently when he sat down and questioned the president on the future of education, his basketball skills, and improvements to school lunches (suggesting that french fries and mangoes be served daily) and closed the session with by extending an offer to be his "homeboy."
