Pimp Your Crib: Moses Baskets

Expectant parents spend a ton of time buying cribs, assembling them and selecting bedding to match a nursery's decor, but most parents prefer to wait a while before they actually have baby sleep in the crib.

One great option is a Moses basket. I kept our sleeping babe in one on the side of the bed until she moved into her crib. The baskets are pretty and convenient for newborns. And, I love that they can go from room to room so when baby needs a nap, you can always keep an eye on her.

A quick tip, make sure the lining in the basket is machine washable as you never know how much of a mess baby might make.

Just wanted to share this... i bought a bare moses basket at www.luckyclovertrading.com for only $15.50, decorated it myself, bought a replacement bedding and gave it as as gift to my best friend's baby shower party. I spent only about $80. My best friend was so happy to receive it considering I especially made it for her and her baby!

I couldn't get my daughter to sleep in her bassinet, PNP, or her crib when she was a newborn. I eventually bought a little sleep nest so she could sleep safely on the bed next to me. That was the only way we got any sleep those first few months.

We used a moses basket with our second child and it was WONDERFUL! Especially when we spent the night away from home...it was alot less bulky than a pack n play, and cuter :)

We really liked the Moses basket idea, but we couldn't believe how expensive some of them are - especially considering how little time the new addition spends in it. My mom ended up getting us a bassinet for our bedroom, so he slept in there for his first month. After that, it was off to the crib, and he's been happy as a clam.

my aunt is going to have a baby in a few months and my mom is getting her one of these Moses Baskets. i think they are cute. i saw one on the tyra banks show and i loved it.
