Did Both Parents Bid Child Goodbye on First Day of School?

Even couples that are at odds like Jon and Kate Gosselin come together to see their children off on the first day of school. In the midst of their divorce, the parents set their differences aside to bid their twin daughters, Cara and Mady, goodbye at the bus stop. When classes resumed at my child's school this week, I noticed that most of the pupils had both mom and pop present for the big day. Many siblings were also there to show their support. What does your family do?

me and hubby have 6 together... he has 5 and i have 1 ... well our youngest one started kindergarten this yr and hubby took off the whole first week so we could put him on the bus and get him off together...... the other 5 lives with their mother so we wasnt allowed to be there for them for their first day back....

Both my parents saw me off to Kindergarten, and stopped caring every year after that ;) My mom did have to be present on my first and last day of high school, though. It was her time to feel sorry about me getting older and cry, haha.

Depends on the year. My husband is also a teacher, so if the first day of school falls on the same day as our children's first day, it's impossible for him to be there. My oldest is 11 and we still go as a family, dropping off the oldest first, and down the line.

My oldest daughter starts kindergarden next year and my husband and I have already stated that we both will bring her to school on the first day. Her baby sister will tag along too!

My youngest is in 3rd. And when kids get older it's not considered "cool" to have the whole bus pull up and see them off. My 8 year old said, "dad. Please. I'm not a baby". Little doesn't last long :(
