Do You Mind When People Post Pics of Your Child Online?

The world is online, but should your children's pictures be on other people's profile pages? Social networking sites are popular and parents, extended family, and even friends like to showcase the kiddos they adore by posting photos. Peruse Facebook for a few moments and you're bound to find an ultrasound image or just birthed baby though sometimes the poster isn't the mom or pop! When it comes to your babe's pics, do you expect people to ask before they put them up?

Close family and friends doing it doesn't bother me. My mother and sister post pictures of my kids all the time, but i also post pictures.

I have a typo in post #2. Anyone who posts WITHOUT permission sucks, in my opinion. Chances are, I'm going to say yes. But ask me first and let me see the photo. One of my pet peeves is when people post things like a class photo without checking with the other parents to see if it's ok. I crop out anyone who I haven't asked, or blur them out if it's not possible to crop them. Assuming someone is ok with it is stupid.

I'm proud of my kids, and the only people that should be taking pictures other than me are going to be friends of mine on my site and the only people that can see the pictures are also only my friends. If one of my closest friends captures a moment that I didn't or couldn't get, I have no problem with them posting it especially because I would've done it myself.

In my opinion, anyone who posts a photo of anyone else with permission sucks, whether the photo is of a child or adult. Sure, some may not mind, but it's much better to practice common courtesy and ask first.

I don't mind the occasional picture, but I'd rather it weren't tagged with my name or my husband's (which has happened).
