Once on the changing table, baby boys sometimes like to shower their parents with, well, not love or affection, but urine!
Hence, the invention of the Pee Pee Teepee ($15). These make a great little present topper, but are they really useful?

I don't have a little boy - but this is a cute idea. I would definitely buy it for someone who I knew was having a little boy - even for the laugh factor of it!
1I babysat for a friend who just had a son - it came in handy, thats for sure!
2These don't work at all. Try balancing the tiny teepee on a tiny peepee while changing a diaper on a wiggling baby. I found the best solution was to to lay another diaper over. Because if the little guy does decide to let loose, you want something absorbent to catch most of it if possible. The teepee would probably just shoot right off and you'd still have to deal with spray.
3I haven't had a little boy yet but I would give these a try if I ever do!
4ha i gotta get this for my sister
5This is funny, but seems a little much...can't you just use a cloth? I am having a lil boy so I guess I will see soon if it is practical!
6More laundry? No thanks. A diaper works more than fine. This is one of those things first-time mothers would buy, but then you realize how unnesessary it is!
7Cute, but the mess is probably not fun to clean afterwards.
8But I guess its better in the cone than on you.
It's funny what people will spend money on. Wouldn't a wipe, washcloth or diaper do the same thing?
9I have a boy. These are not useful. It's easier to keep a cloth diaper handy.
First-time parents and brides are the most heavily-marketed to groups. You just don't need half the crap they want you to buy.
10Cute, but silly. Just lay the new diaper over baby, and you're good to go. I have a boy and I've never been peed on. I did accidentally have the little guy pee on his own face once when I was lifting his ankles to clean his underside.
Poor little guy. I used a diaper over
the spigot after that...
11I only have girls, so I don't really know much about the "spraying factor", but I would think that just a diaper or cloth should do the trick.
I'd probaby buy them as a gag/funny gift though if I knew someone who was having a boy.
12these are so funny to me
13just proves that people will try to sell you anything. like several others have said, just use a spare diaper. save the 15 dollars for the kids college fund lol.
14I received some as a baby shower gift for my second son and I never used them- I never had them around when I was being sprayed. They are a cute baby gift but not very useful in the practical sense.
15humm seems like real moms
already invited this..
its called common sense
to use a cloth...
..lol, they jus packaged
it and are making us buy it.
lol.
16I got these as a gift prior to having my son and needless to say, they are cute but useless. If you are looking something to serve this purpose, the One Step Ahead catalog sells a plastic shield type thing that is heavier that works much better.
17I actually think these DO work...I love em!
18after four boys (one still in diapers), all i can say is, "why didn't *i* think of that?" how do those little guys fit so much liquid into a bladder the size of a small walnut???
19My husband bought these for our son. THEY DO NOT WORK. I use tissues- they are absorbent and more importantly, disposable.
20Diapers do the trick - while my boys use disposable diapers, I bought cloth diapers for that specific purpose. Saved us a lot of hassle.
Cute idea, I'm just not sure how well they work.
21I don't have a little boy, but I do have nephews, and this could come in real handy for aunty!
22i have a boy. he is 3 now, but when he was a baby i just laid an extra prefold over him while i was cleaning him up. i never got peed on. and prefold diapers are like, $1 each.
23lolzz jennifer i kinda feel bad for laughing, but that's really funny! and this is so stupid, just use diapers
24adorable. my sister loves when here son pees she thinks it so cute, so she might not want it.
25a diaper works fine and is one less thng to wash or toss.
26I totally agree with aknitter. Use another cloth diaper to cover the little dude. What a waste! This is just another wasteful product for consumers to spend their money on.
27A cute baby shower gift but useless!
28My sister got one at her baby shower when she was pregnant with my nephew but I am not sure if she has used it.
Personally I think it is a cool idea!
29I think it's a cute idea, but then again, I'm partial to the Airplanes-- my hubs is a student Aviator. But I don't know how useful they'd actually be. I saw them at Motherhood, and thought- how cute. But didn't buy- but maybe b/c I don't know the sex of our babe.
30My sister bought these for me when I had my little boy - definitely useful. I like to put a few in the diaper bag and have them for one I am on the road changing him in a public place. I have found them very, very usefull!
31Funny idea, but I don't know if I would think of using it. I do have a boy, but I just learned to be careful. Plus they wiggle around so much that wouldn't stay on for too long.
32trust me, it happens way too fast to grab a silly cone to protect yourself.
33I bought something called wee blocks for my son, you can get them for $10 at babies r us. I had girls before him so I was paranoid about getting peed on. Honestly, I've never had to use them because he only pees in his diaper. My baby's so smart! lol

35I guess it's kind of cute if you were including part of a baby boy gift basket ... BUT in real life...
Just throw a cloth diaper or wash cloth over him as you change his diaper. This is easier than trying to fit a cone (and believe me... you have to be pretty quick getting him covered simultaneously while taking the diaper off as the cool air is what triggers this!!!)
36they don't work very well.
37I have a little boy. We managed to make it through diaper changes without this.I think it would be really hard to keep it on. My child is just now sitting through the change and soon, he will be using the real toilet.
THis is more work than it's worth
38Looks like a waste of cash. If you have a little boy then you just get used to the idea that he may just squirt you sometime, just get over it LOL.
39But you all have to admit, it's cute and a little funny. Like some of you have said, it would be a great shower gift, but it's probably not too practical.
40I babysat a TON growing up, but for some reason, I only ever sat for girls (not by choice, just odd chance). Add to that a complete lack of knowledge of the male anatomy, and, growing up, I was TERRIFIED of one day being peed on. If I'd known about these as a teen, I probably would have bought them for babysitting. But now, well, I'm a bit smarter than that.
41I am all for buying every cute, gimmicky thing that comes on the market for my kids, but I just refused to buy this for my son (Who is 5 months). He squirms all over the place! There is no way that this would stay put. Also, I've heard from other people who have been suckered into buying it that if your baby has a strong, uh, stream (?!) that it can get knocked off. Your best bet is either a diaper, or burp cloth.
42i PICKED SOME OF THESE UP FOR MY BESTFRIEND AND SHE SAID THAT THEY DO NOT WORK AND ITS HARD TO USE. BUT IT SURE GOT A BIG LAUGH AT HER BABY SHOWER. IT WAS WORTH HER SMILE.
43oh god! this is one reason im hoping for a GIRL! lol
44This is so funny but I don't think when my son was wearing diapers it would have done any good. If any of my friends ever have a boy I might buy it for a laugh though.
45I think it's stupid. For starters, a good stream of urine would knock that thing right off.
I agree about just putting another diaper or a burp cloth over it. Getting a urine stream baptism is just part of having a boy, in my opinion. I couldn't care less if they pee on me.
46I bought these for my second son, they don't work very well, they are too small, do not stay in place and once they have been washed once they don't maintain the same "tee pee" shape. When changing a boy just put an open, clean diaper over his privates... it worked just fine for both of my boys.
47Heres my tip keep your mouth closed an all is good.
48My husband laughed when I got these as a gift, but they were actually quite handy and cute. Whenever I use a small towel or tissue, my son tries to grab and put it in his mouth. These he leaves alone, not sure why...
