Whoa. If I frequented a firing range I suppose I would think they are cute, but I don't. I think the guy that makes them is right, you need to keep these locked up. I can see how they can be mistaken for toys.

Yea, pink doesn't make them any more deadly than black, but it sure makes them more kid-friendly. Holy crap, that's seriously scary.

sounds like something from "kill bill". yeah, i don't think they need to cute-up guns. kids are drawn to hello kitty and so in a matter of time there will be an "accident". as if we couldn't see this comming a mile away.

kids always have a way of finding locked up guns and this would look like the perfect toy to them. and there are always stories of law enforcement mistaking toy guns for real guns, and this isn't going to help that matter either. all in all, i don't think dressing up guns is not a good service to be offering people.

I don't mind the pink guns as long as they are never ever around children!!!! But, I do have an issue with the possible trademark infringement by putting of the Hello Kitty images on the guns prior to selling them!!! WTF -does the second amendment also protect you from paying royalties?? Who knew. . . now if they do have Sanrio permission then that's a different story - somehow I doubt it!

Ugh. I personally love the pink guns-- but then, I am also one of those girls whose man likes to find fun ways to get her out to the shooting range. I agree with the store owner; gun safety is gun safety no matter what the gun looks like. I believe that even if you don't have guns/ don't like them/ whatever your deal, you should always teach your children what to do if they should run across one. Frankly, if a child is clever enough to find the gun, they should be clever enough to realize that they shouldn't touch it.

I'd just like to note that Jim's refinishing department is a custom service; they aren't mass producing pink Hello Kitty guns.

Hello Kitty isn't just a kids brand, it's become an adult brand. I'm sure if Sanrio finds out about this, they will be going after them for trademark infringement. You can't use someone else's trademark for commercial purposes, even if you're putting it on one thing. One major part of the Hello Kitty brand is that Sanrio will never authorize the use of Hello Kitty on an object that could obviously be used to hurt someone. So you'll find Hello Kitty on many household items, but you'll probably never see Sanrio authorize it for a knife. And if you do see it, it's probably a fake.

I don't know...part of me thinks - WTF!? And the other part of me thinks - have any of you ever seen toy guns!? They look exactly like real guns. So, in a sense, all guns look like toy guns.

And, honestly, I wonder how often little girls go looking for guns and play around with them. Seems like I'm usually hearing about little boys in tragic accidents.

clever child does not always equal reasoning/good choice making. my oldest daughter is severely autistic and loves hello kitty. she can figure out how to unlock doors and windows but not that if she goes into the street w/o looking she might get run over. i know that's extreme and most children aren't severely impaired, but it makes me nervous. kids see hello kitty and think "play". that's just the wy it is.

I could see this company doing the camo design but that pink is just hideous. I don't think it makes it look like a toy, it just makes it look tacky. Besides, like someone said it is usually boys who play with guns and I don't think my boys would ever want to play with a pink gun, real or fake.

I don't have a problem with guns. I'm actually quite good at shooting them.. but I think if I saw that pink hand gun laying on a table I don't think I would think it's real. While I agree that all responsible owners keep them locked up the color and the decal concern me a bit. It just seems irresponsible to do. Guns are for protection and basically KILLING, why cute it up?

I just had an Armalite AR-15 turned hot pink by these guys. My fiance loves it.

I really have two points to make---

1) All guns should be treated as real guns and should never be pointed in an unsafe direction. Gun safety should be practiced with every gun - toy or not.

2) What is tacky to one person is not to the other. Personally I find much of the current clothes fashions to be tacky but I know we have the right to pursue happiness just as the 2nd Amendment protects our individual right to self defense - doesn't say anything about the color of the firearm. I own a grocery store/gun shop. Currently there are more and more production firearms that are coming out in different colors and I can assure you all that pink firearms are something that is popular.

I own pink guns. My children are in no more danger than they would be if my guns matched my husband's. If you don't teach your children gun safety, then color really doesn't matter. We do not leave them laying about the house. The ammo is kept separate. The kids have all been out to the range, they know my guns aren't toys.

I usually dont post, but I cant help myself. The fact of the matter is....CURIOSITY KILLED THE CAT!!! If people spent more time with their children, and educated them on guns, how to shoot, and how dangerous they are, we wouldnt have such a problem. The #1 GUN problem in this country is the LACK of gun respect!! People, pay attention to your kids!!! Guns could provide positive bonding experiences with parents and their kids!!

Like others have said, color has NOTHING to do with gun safety.

Some of you have the mistaken impression that we gun owners leave our guns laying around. Nothing could be further from the truth. Responsible parents are just as responsible, regardless of the sport they enjoy, or the color of their sporting goods.

I personally keep my Glock it's stock black. But I may get a pink gun someday. My kids know not to touch a gun - even my three year old. And just in case they forget, it's out of reach at all times. My job as a parent is to keep them from getting to it. COLOR has nothing to do with it.

I own a pink gun along with others... My kids are very aware of gun safety and both are attending hunters safety to strengthen that respect. I dont think the color of the gun makes it any more dangerous or inviting for young people... stupidity and ignorance is what is dangerous and scares the crap outta of me!!!!

If I were to get a gun for myself, it would definitely be pink, regardless of whether anyone else ever sees it or if I ever use it. If I'm gonna spend hundreds of dollars on something to protect myself, and there's an option of having it pink, why would I not go for that ? I know it's a weapon, but I would like it to represent part of my personality at least instead of a boring black or gray one. And of course if you're old enough to buy a gun, you should be smart and responsible enough to keep it in a safe place where someone else (especially a child) won't be able to get it. DUH.

Okay, and I didn't really look at that first picture with the actual Hello Kitty sticker till now... THAT is a little ridiculous. But the color is not.
