When a big green ogre named Shrek finds out that his swamp has been taken over fairy-tale creatures, thanks to Lord Farquaad, he sets out — with a boisterous donkey by his side — to get control back. To do so, he must rescue Princess Fiona, who is waiting for her one true love. This parody of familiar kid tales, and love story, was the first Oscar winner for best animated feature film in 2002.
