Are You an Online Networking Mama?

It seems that everyone is "twittering" away or loading pictures onto their Facebook accounts these days. Even President Barack Obama has a Facebook page to keep his fans in the know. I'm guilty and admittedly addicted to the latter, but stand strong against the urge to Twitter though I do follow lilsugar's!

As a mom, I often feel like I hardly have time to breathe, but somehow I find time to occasionally update my Facebook status to let my 550 "friends" know that I just ordered a pillow online. Some of my pals leak every detail of their lives through such methods and while I love to read about them, I'm afraid I'd be in danger of child neglect if I signed up for another group like Totspot or the like. And besides that I'm not sure who really wants to hear about my adventures in potty training! Which sites do you like?

I really enjoy both Facebook and Twitter and have also been using TotSpot to keep out of town family in the know. I love TotSpot for creating such a great "scrapbook" of memories about my children's day to day life. I enjoy using it for my own children but also checking in on my friend's children!

I have been able to stay in touch with friends and family. I love the fact that I can see pictures of them and their families. I love facebook for this!

I have to be into some of this stuff for my job, but I enjoy it. I rarely post updates about my daughter other than pictures, though. I know that other people aren't very interested in day to day life with a toddler.

All of these sites are nice sometimes. I think some people go over board. I went to vist a very dear friend over memorial day and I have to say it was a nice visit but at times she was not all there. She was on her blackberry so much during the visit (instant messaging, facebook, and what else I don't know) that the visit at times was the distration for her and not the other way around.

If I didn't have it all on my iPhone it is doubtful that I would keep up like I do. I also work during the day which I think gives me some opportunities that some SAHM's might not have. I know Friday-Sunday when I'm home with the boys I do less updates.
