Mommy's Lil Helper: Spit-Up

All babies spit up, but why should moms end up wearing it? The Burp Catcher was the ingenious idea of mother-of-three and journalist, Margaret Pressler who tired of cleaning the substance off of herself and the floor.

Since an infant has an immature digestive system and a short esophagus, spill over is a natural occurrence. I used the fleece pocketed burper with my son and beyond it catching lil messes, the soft fabric was gentle on his sensitive skin. Priced at $12, it is available with pink, blue, or green trim and comes in a mesh bag.

Oh the spit up days! I couldn't wear any of my sweaters all last winter because they would be covered in spit up in a matter of minutes. Nice burp clothes are essential as they become an accessory to your wardrobe!

Yeah, I had about 3 dozen big cloth diapers I used as burp rags. Jeez... I do not miss the spitting up! That was 10 months of never feeling clean. Then once the spit-up was done, the drooling/teething began. *sigh*

Fleece is such a better idea. Regular burp cloths are worthless, in my experience. The spit-up just rolls off of them.I generally use the large cloth diapers, which also absorb a lot better.
