It's a Girl For Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar!

Number 19 is here! Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar welcomed baby girl Josie Brooklyn to the world yesterday evening. Born prematurely, the tiny tot weighed in at 1 pound, 6 ounces! After successfully dealing with gallstone issues, the mother of many was rushed to the hospital with complications. According to People, "Michelle was taken to the OR for an emergency C-section. She is resting comfortably, and the baby is stable and in the NICU for extended care." Congratulations to the Duggar family! We wish Michelle a speedy recovery and hope Josie Brooklyn will soon be able to join the rest of her family in their home.

I wish the best for them and their new little baby. But, after browsing through the meals they eat which are posted on the Duggar Family website, I am not surprised that she has developed pre-eclampsia. The Mayo Clinic states that one cause Pre-Eclampsia is poor diet. Their diets rarely include fresh vegetables and fruits (what God/nature intended us to eat). Instead, it is filled with nutrition-free white bread, hot dogs, hot dog buns, Kraft Singles cheese, ground beef, ketchup, BBQ sauce, pickles, cake mix, noodles and a bag of lettuce. It is one of the worst diets I've ever seen. They should see a dietitian before all of them have diabetes.

Just wanted to say that I also am praying for the Duggers and the new baby and by my earlier statement, I did not mean any disrespect. I only hope and pray for the best for them and their sweet baby. BUT preeclampsia is a life threatning condition. I had it with my first pregnancy. Yes, it doesn't have any thing to do with her age or how many children she has. My point is that her and her husband are blessed with many children and have been fortunate to have very healthy pregnancies...but as many doctors have said to me there is a risk for ANY pregnancy. There's even more risk the older you are and the closer your pregnancies are...most doctors recommend waiting 2 years so your body and hormones can adjust. So again, why risk your life (when your 19 children need you) or the life of a new child (it can be very difficult emotionally if you miscarry or have a still born child for not only the mother but the siblings too) when you are abundantly blessed with children! Again, no disrespect intended...just my opinion.

I used to find this family creepy, but after watching their show I really like them. They are responsible and take great care of their kids who seem well behaved and happy. I also am so amazed how patient she is. I wish them well!

Baby sounds pretty small for being 6 months to me, I don't know, But I am praying for this little one. And I agree, preeclampsia and gallbladder plroblems happen with a lot of pregnancies. Gall bladders problems during pregnancy is actually more common in younger mothers whose diet is not the best. And has absolutely NOTHING to do with having a lot of kids. So best not to open your mouth unless you know what you are talking about. I would never in a million years have so many kids and at 29 probably a little too late to start even if I wanted to. lol. But they seem like great caring wonderful parents who spend more time with each individual child that most parents of 2 kids do now days. Its really sad people feel the need to judge these people.

"You are only putting your health and the health of your unborn baby at risk." Really? She had contractions because of the gall bladder attack. The same could happen in a first pregnancy. Would you tell the mother pregnant with her first that she's putting the health of her child at risk as well? It's not a pregnancy complication, it happens with or without pregnancy, and through no fault of the person having the attack. Their family is in my prayers, and I hope that the baby does well and that Michelle recovers easily. Best of luck to them, and I hope they follow their hearts and prayers, whichever direction that may lead.

I just read that that had to do the c section because Michelle had developed a very bad case of preeclampsia. It was discovered while hospitalized for her gallbadder problems. They had to do it because her blood pressure was too high and it was the only chance to save her and the baby. In terms of it being her 19th child, her and her husband take care of their children very well, they have no debt so more power to them for being able to care for such a large family. What harm do them do to the rest of society, we are not supporting them with handouts. I personally don't think I could handle or want such a big family but they can so let them be.

That is just so early... it's shocking they did a c-section to me.... As much as I disagree with their birth control choices, it is still THEIR choice and I hope the baby is healthy and safe. Poor baby, get better soon!

God bless them. I hope the baby survives, michelle wasn't due until march 18th. I don't think now is the time for all the nasty comments regarding how many kids they should have. People are just so nasty. It reminds me of when my sister was 18 she gave birth to her twin boys at 29 weeks and they almost didn't make it, our nasty grandmother who didn't approve of an 18 year old having a baby/babies said "well, you would be better off if they don't make it!" Luckily the are now healthy 17 year old boys.

Seriously...stop! You are only putting your health and the health of your unborn baby at risk. Not to mention the emotional and mental stability of your children and family. God wanted us to procreate but not to the point of putting people at risk. He also gave us a brain in hopes that we might use it and say...ok...the next child might not survive...what kind of damage might that do to me and my children (physically and mentally). Stop the nonsense!!

Enough with the rude anonymous comments. This is not about the parents' birth control/lack of choice. This is a real life human being who is struggling for life and needs all the prayer/positive thoughts/support she can get! Poor little Josie! AND...this has nothing to do with Michelle's age or how many kids she's had. Even young mothers have had birth complications due to gall bladder issues, etc.
