Baby It's Time! How Did You Try to Bring on Labor?

At a certain point in pregnancy, a mom-to-be is more than ready to meet her little one. Some women walk until their legs tire hoping to stir up their babe, and others take a Castor oil concoction to get things moving. Whether it's eating prego pizza or having sex, many ladies take a chance on these methods to try to induce labor. Which did you do?

At three days overdue, I was DONE. (actually, I'd been over it by about seven weeks, but that's neither here nor there) I didn't want to be medically induced, but if a hot pepper or a walk or sex would up my chances of going into labor, even just by a tiny bit, I was willing to try. So I walked. I took the dog to the dog park. She didn't leave my side. She sniffed my belly and whined at me the whole time. The next day, my daughter was born!

More like trying to stop it by pretending it wasn't happenning! ;) I still had 3 days to go and I wanted and needed those 3 days. It never even crossed my mind she could come a second earlier than that!

yeah, and on top of those very valid reasons, im not sure why anyone would want to increase their chances of explosive crapping on the delivery table..

None. A baby comes when it's ready, and unless your body is already preparing, you can't force it into labor. Doctors can with harsh stimulants, which certainly have their place when labor is medically necessary and you can't wait naturally. And anyone who uses caster oil without extremely strict medical supervision (and usually even then) is just endangering both mother and baby. The chances of meconium and the baby inhaling it are extremely high with caster oil, not to mention it generally gives mom diarrhea, which greatly increases her chances of dehydration and complications.
