L Is For Loving Lines

If Winnie the Pooh isn't for you, perhaps stripes will do. Lighten up a baby's room with a load of lines for simple and modern appeal. Paint vertical bands on the walls and accent the bedding with thin stripes. Pick a few bright colored frames to sass up shelf space and keep eyes moving in opposite directions by purchasing a lampshade with horizontal lines. Artistically challenged moms can take pride in painting a few striped canvases to make the walls pop. And if mom must have a touch of babe, she can always toss a Cat in the Hat or a Goodnight Moon bunny on the bookcase for good measure.

Has anyone here painted their nursery with vertical stripes? I'm looking for pictures for some inspiration. I'm due in November and just registered for lilac and green bedding, Bacati Flower Basket bedding set http://www.amazon.com/Isabella-Lilac-Green-Crib-Set/dp/B0018STNCY/ref=combo_pack_i_1. I was thinking of taking my currently light green bedroom and putting up a chair rail half way up, and painting vertical stripes on the lower half with dark green. Then I was thinking, instead of the chair rail, maybe I paint another horizontal green stripe, and take the lilac color and stencil some purple flowers within that stripe.
