Lil Tips for Flying with Children

Lil Tip: Lil Ears on Planes

In the midst of the travel season, we have a simple tip to share. When flying with children, especially tiny ones, you want to ensure that their little ears are protected. As adults, we can easily pop the air out of our ears when the altitude changes, but poor babes have no idea how to take care of themselves. So to help, feed them on the ascent and descent. If your child is older and eats food or chews gum, give them something to snack. The goal is just to get them to swallow, thus clearing those lil Eustachian tubes. A pacifier can sometimes help, too.

If they are old enough to recognize a bottle of milk or bag of snacks, don't pull it out until the last minute. And, I mean the engine is roaring and you are speeding down the runway. Otherwise, your babe could be sucking that milk down while you are stuck waiting on the tarmac.
