Lil Tip: Shampoo Rinse Cup

When my daughter was younger, she loved splashing around in the tub, but when it came time to rinse her hair — she'd freak.

So I invested in one of these Shampoo rinse cups ($9) that holds up to 48 oz. and has a soft rubber panel to shield her face from soap bubbles and water while her locks get clean.

You know what worked just as well when I was little? Tipping my head back and closing my eyes while mom used a normal cup.

I have been tempted to buy this in teh store a few times, but I keep thinking that my plastic cup does the same job. Decisions decisions.

This is so cool. I have had a couple of people recommend this to me. We us a basic plastic cup but it always spills into his eyes.

When I was a kid (actually it still happens) I would get terrible ear-aches everytime I had water in my ears, so my grandma found this thing that looked a bit like a dog collar (but flat), with an elastic in the middle so that it would go around my head, just above the ears and on the foreheads, leaving my hair free for my mum to wash without me getting any water in my eyes or ears. (phew that's one long sentence) I loved it!

I use a cup to rinse DD's hair, but she still freaks. Even though I very rarely get water in her eyes. Maybe if I got this and told her it was super special she'd stop freaking out.

Or you can just do what my dad always did, which was rinse our hair with a plastic pitcher and shield our eyes with his hands.

The Super Big Gulp cup doesn't have the "seal" in the front, it just pours water over their head like a pitcher.But I do end up using the Big Gulp type cup more often since I have to pour water over their whole head/face anyway to get the shampoo out of the front.I only spent like $4 on my rinse cup like this, though.

Maybe it's just me but doesn't it seem like you could save yourself about $8 and just use a Super Big Gulp cup instead? Or is that tacky?????

such a great idea! i wish i had one when i was little.. its horrible getting shampoo in your eyes!! i mean i still do it! haha

We have one and I like it well enough, but it certainly doesn't keep the water/soap out of of their face unless you're content with not rinding the very front of their hair as well.

ah when i was little my mom used a plastic play bucket to rinse my hair.

I bought one of these the first time I saw it at the store and I can honestly say it was worth it. Much less tears at bathtime now, and considering the amount before I don't believe all those baby/kid shampoos are really tear free!
