Lil Tip: Fondue

If you've got a child with ants in his pants that doesn't sit down long enough to eat a nutritious meal, try feeding him fondue style.

Though parental supervision is a must, my kids love nibbling goodies from the hot pots of melted cheese, sizzling oil for frying up meat and fish, and of course the grand finale — sweet chocolate dessert dip.

In addition to switching things up at mealtime, fondue is a fun treat for play-dates.

sizzling oil and childsafe don't really go together but, i can see how it be could safe and yummy the way musewings does it!

Fondue is awesome for kids. My daughter had her first Melting Pot experience at about a year old, and she loved it. We don't do boiling oil or broth, we do cheese. At home, I don't even keep it hot in a fondue pot... I just make it on the stove and pour it in a bowl, and it has never been a problem. It is still one of my daughter's favorite meals, and so easy.

The Melting Pot is my kids (ages 3 and 5) favorite restaurant! The 3 year old doesn't even dip his food, just waves it through the steam and insists that he is cooking it. They eat more there than they normally eat in an entire week, and stay well behaved throughout the entire 2 to 3 hour meal!

Um, I don't mean to be negative, but this doesn't exactly sound safe. At least not for my kid. She can knock something over from 10 feet away! My husband and I joke that a family dinner at The Melting Pot would be the most disasterous evening ever for us! Boiling oil should never be in the same room with our child. :-)
