Lil Community: Fertility Advice?

I need advice! Please? I want a baby and it won't happen. It's been two years that we have been trying and so far nothing. It hurts me so bad every time I find out we don't succeed. What could I do to either not want it any more or succeed? What vitamins could I take that would help? I need all the help I can get. It would be appreciated. Thank you for taking your time to read this.

I thought I couldnt get pregnant because I have PCOS. Women with this ususally have a hard time getting pregnant. So I went the "natural" route first. I changed my diet to an alkalized diet ( http://www.energiseforlife.com/ ), and excercised 15 minutes a day . I did the basics of it and I went to an herbalist. She showed me " Ultra GLA 300" Its Borage Oil and she told me its to get my hormones and woman parts corrected. I started this in September 2009 and I got pregnant in November 2009. Also my hubby and I had sex 2-3 times a week. This barely cost me any money. The herbs were about $36 and I took them once a day. I am really lucky thats all it took for me. I hope you'll find something that helps you as well.

Oh and my doc said the CVS prenatals are perfectly fine.

I'm sorry you're going through this. We've been trying for 18 months and on fertility meds for 5 months. If you haven't already, get Taking Charge of Your Fertility and start charting temps (at the least). Infertility treatments usually aren't covered by insurance. My husband and I decided to go the cheap route with minimal testing and just trying some regular inexpensive drugs through my gyn. At the end of 6 months of this, we will make a decision about whether to go to the next level and see an RE. Good luck to you, and message me if you have any questions.

totally been there! step 1: totally buy the clear blue easy ovulation kit (it's about $20). our fertility clinic said these are the best. using those you'll be able to determine when you are most fertile. the days it says you are ovulating, make sure you have sex on that day and the day after. there is no need to have sex every single day of the month, that will actually reduce your chances if your hubby has low sperm count or low motility (slow swimmers). step 2: if that doesn't work for the first few months or so, go to a fertility clinic. they'll run a bunch of tests on you and your hubby and determine what's the problem. ranging from whether your fallopian tubes are blocked to what your hubby's swimmers are looking like. it was a huge relief for us once we found out what was wrong because then we were able to have a more appropriate plan of attack. typically at this point, depending on the results of your tests they'll recommend the next course of action. if they don't see anything wrong initially, they may start you on clomid for a couple cycles, then clomid + intrauterine inseminations, and so on up the escalating options. for us, we were lucky to get pregnant after about two months from when we started to go to the clinic. it doesn't always work out like that, but it will totally up your chances for sure! try the first step and see if that'll help. knowing when you're ovulating is 95% of the battle!!!! good luck!

Buy the Clear Blue Easy Fertility Monitor. It is $150 and it pinpoints the exact day that you can conceive. I know people who have failed at IVF and have gotten pregnant using this. It is expensive but it WORKS! My 1 year old is here thanks to this awesome piece of fertility technology!!

Hello there, I’ve been there so I know exactly how you feel. It took my husband and I a little over 2yrs. I agree with Jennie, have you seen a fertility specialist? If not, I also highly suggest it. Be prepared for them to ask you a lot of questions bring your significant other with you. It is true what people say, stress has a big affect when you’re trying to conceive. My advice to you is to hope for those negatives, honestly it works. I was on clomid for 4 cycles (this was after trying for 2yrs) and I just gave up. Completely gave up. Two months later I was pregnant and now I have a happy 8 ½ month old. So if I can get pregnant, so can you. Hang in there – it will happen. Try doing something to get your mind off it. As for vitamins, just take any prenatal ones, I take the CVS brand ones. They are all the same. I hope this helps, PM me if you wanna chat.

Have you visited a fertility specialist? They would be able to rule out the causes of issues you are having. After 2 years I really think this would be your best bet.
