What Was Your First Big Ticket Item Purchase For Baby?

While a baby could be raised with minimal items, it certainly makes life easier and more fun to purchase a few basics like a crib, a rocking chair and a dresser. Some suspicious moms-to-be won't buy a thing until the baby arrives while others deck their nurseries out when they cross the 12-week mark.

Kourtney Kardashian just announced her baby news last week and has already been spotted at a baby goods store with the daddy-to-be, Scott Disick. The two inspected gliders, strollers, high chairs, and cribs. Many moms settle on a crib and then decorate around it. What was your first big ticket baby item?

My big ticket item will be the bugaboo frog stroller, since I plan on having more than one child. My mom is gonna actually buy it, but I don't want anything else thats too expensive. I am 20 weeks and I am not allowed to purchase anything yet (mother, sister, and husband's orders). After my suprise baby shower, I will see what is left on the registry and go from there.

We are waiting till the last 6 weeks to purchase everything. The only thing we bought was a gliding chair because it was at such a good price on craigslist... but, otherwise we are waiting.
a stokke.. hubby and i thought it was the best thing since slice bread. still do. worth the buy if you're planning on having two or more kids and hate using the restaurant highchairs.

A crib... I was pretty paraniod though and I waited until I was about 36 weeks pregnant to finally set up the nursery.

Just passed 13 weeks and started crib shopping today, so fun!

the crib. we had seen a round crib on our honeymoon and i was determined to get one when i got pregnant. it took some looking back then (1997) to find one that was reasonably priced.

We waited until we found out her gender, which was later then normal because my dr ordered an ultrasound early and the insurance refused one later, so we had to set up an appointment with an outside company and they were booked pretty heavily. It's a small town area, so they do the baby packages as well as most imaging for medical purposes as well. Once we found out it was a girl, and since we had had no problems whatsoever, we went out and bought her crib, a recliner chair since ive never liked gliders, and the entire matching set of a playpen, high chair, swing, stroller, etc. Some practical onsies and such, and some cutesy stuff. We had been waiting until then to really go ape, and we spent hours shopping. It was so much fun!
