Kid-Friendly Recipes From the White House Chef
Steal the White House Chef's Kid-Friendly Pop-Tart Alternative Recipe
Show me a mom who isn't looking for new recipes for her family, and I'll show you a mom that I'm bowing down to. As busy parents, it's easy to get in a rut and just make the same rotation of dishes that guarantee clean plates at the end of the meal. Changing things up not only introduces tots to new tastes, but also it can be fun for everyone involved in the cooking process.
Chris Comerford, the executive chef at the White House, was recently challenged to make a healthy picnic for fifth graders. The result? Some great dishes kids and adults will love. Among my favorites were pocket fruit pies and a refreshing lemonade that look a lot tastier than anything you'll find prepackaged in the store. Take a look and add these to any gatherings you might be having this weekend!
