Josh and Anna Duggar Decided on Baby Name!

Will Meredith Veira be disappointed? The newswoman joked on air that she'd give Josh and Anna Duggar a nice baby gift if the couple went with the letter "M" and named their child after her. While Josh's parents, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar (best known for their show 18 Kids and Counting) have named all of their offspring with the letter "J," the expectant couple aren't so sure they'll stick to one part of the alphabet.

Perhaps, they honored the soon-to-be daddy's mother by using the first letter of her moniker for the grandbaby's name. The much-anticipated bundle of joy, set to arrive on Oct. 20, will go by Mackynzie Renée.

i love the duggars. they're an amazing family. i'm happy for josh and anna. i love the name they chose.. i'm glad they decided not to stick with the J trend.. it's sort of cute, i guess, but after a while.. i don't really think that the spelling of that name is even all that creative. these days people just invent their own spellings.. it's not really that big a deal anymore.. i don't think the child will have a problem.. sure she might have to spell it out for everyone, every time.. but lots of people have to do that.. my name is cassie.. not cassandra, not cassidy.. and every time i tell someone my name i have to spell it.. or they think i'm cathy.. i work in customer service and have to say, and spell, my name about a hundred times a day.. but it's still not a big deal.. they chose a beautiful name!

Utah, I do have to agree, why is it the correct way to live? I dont believe that for a second. It's great that everything works out for them in the way they live, but that is NOT by any means what is right for me in my life. In fact it is VERY wrong for me to try and live like them, yet I am still a very good person and I love my life and the choices I make daily.

Why is it so hard for us to support those that try to have morals and values? I live a very contemporary life yet know deep down that aspects of the Duggar lifestyle is the correct way to live. I am proud of the Duggars for choosing to go against the flow.

i love the name..... im wondering how they are feeling now that the mom (michelle) is pregnant again.... i love the show and love the duggars, just wished that jim bob and michelle would have let josh and anna enjoy the spotlight of being a new expecting parents instead of having another child coming ..... but jmo

"- actually wasn't it written into their vows that they will accept as many kids as the Lord gives them? I'm pretty sure if they are able to get pregnant and carry the child to term fairly easily they will have a lot of kids!I agree with MissSushi - just b/c it is a common name doesn't mean you won't have to spell it. " - actually wasn't it written into their vows that they will accept as many kids as the Lord gives them? I'm pretty sure if they are able to get pregnant and carry the child to term fairly easily they will have a lot of kids! I dont like creative names, just a personal choice, but its not going to be the downfall of her life. I have a perfectly normal, if a bit uncommon name. Katrina. Every single time I tell someone my name, i have to spell it. Its not totally unknown, unique, made up, or spelled creatively, and I still have to spell it every single time. Half the time in school i had to return my id cards/office information becuase it was misspelled or totally wrong and said Kristina. Its going to happen no matter what your name is unless its incredibly common like Jessica or Jennifer, or John. Ive never felt like this was unfair or hampering my life, lol. If theyre asking how to spell it, at least they're getting it from you and not guessing.

I think as she grows up,she's going to have to spell her name out to everyone,teachers,friends etc,, because they will probably think she spells it Mackenzie but she'll have to correct everyone,that's the bad thing about 'creative' names,you're setting your child up to having to spell out their name 'correctly' for the rest of their lives which isn't very fair to the child

Hey, if you guys watched 'Huckabee's,' you'd know that the family has no debt way before they got a show on TLC. They manage fine financially. They're not in debt and they own their things (not still paying for it via credit). Simple principle they used that MOST OF US debt-ridden people should listen: Don't spend on what you can't afford. I loved that! I was happy to know that I'm not alone thinking like that. I may not be like them (or strive to be except for the part of having more patience--seems like they have lots of it), but yeah, I do give 'em respect for some things they accomplish.

They've stated they want three or four. Starting right away doesn't mean they'll have a lot of kids. I don't think she looks at all like Michelle. And in my experience, that spelling is pronounced M'kin-zee rather than m-ken-zee. I don't mind the spelling at all.

I love the duggars! They're such a sweet sweet family, and I think the name is nice no matter how they spell it. I wonder how many kids they will end up having? It probably won't be nowhere near 18 but I'm sure they'll have quite a few, after all they did start fast!

To each their own! I love their name choice and although I wouldn't choose that spelling myself, I think there's nothing wrong with it. Two of my children have less than traditional spelling for their names, but nothing way out there. We chose to spell Hadyn and Abbigail the way we did because we liked it. It's all personal.

Um.. no one is original, and names are repeated constantly. I find it more pathetic when people go above and beyond just to be "original". Just choose what you like and what feels right, not what you think others will like or consider original, unique, cool, etc.
